A two handed slap, what a twat.  Put him away for a bit. Oh wait, that's just boat race protesters.

I don't know who is more of a twat, the lad who ran on the pitch or Chris Kirkland for going down like Mohammed Ali had just whacked him.

Apparently during the match "a section of the Leeds support had earlier sung sick songs about Jimmy Saville (http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/leeds-united/9621886/Goalkeeper-Chris-Kirkland-knocked-down-by-a-Leeds-fan-in-ugly-derby-encounter-with-Sheffield-Wednesday.html)..." Is it possible to sing 'sick' songs about Jimmy Savile?

He's from Gloucester, and is banned from all football stadiums after being involved in trouble at a previous Leeds game. What a cunt.

Don't blame Kirkland for going down like that, hopefully it will help add to the fine/sentence the Leeds knob gets. At the end of the clip doesn't the steward/security bloke realise goals have nets !

Pretty shocking in this day and age, although Warnock's no-nonsense post-match comments about Kirkland going down like a sack of potatoes did make me laugh. Football fans not covering themselves in glory at the moment.

I believe the suggestion was that he and Jones might be kindred spirits given their alleged pasts...

To be fair the sign is half off anyway and in the pictures it hardly looks like the fans above are actually focused on kicking it down.

Given that Leeds were ripping up and throwing seats, bottles and coins I think it's a fair assumption that it took more than a dash of gravity to remove itself and end up where it did.

In view of the Rangers chairman saying they were too big for Scotland, the Gers could join that trio to form a Scots Welsh Norvern-Cockney league.  Good Riddance

Can't imagine the questioning will take very long.

"Is this you in this video twating Chris Kirkland in the face"

So slapping someone is less of a crime than stopping the boat race then ??

Didn't that Oxford fan get similar for not letting off a flare at Plymouth??

4 months seems very lenient

Fair play for getting him to court so quickly but that sentence is less than i thought he'd get.

Considering his (alleged) previous, that makes the (IMO) lenient sentence even more bizarre.

Especially given the other fella got 6 months for stopping the boat race.

Add Sunderland to that, apparently threw golf balls at Cabaye, luckily they weren't able to get any on target, a bit like their strikers.

Not golf balls - they were screwed up balls of paper

Quote
The court heard Cawley had been drinking heavily and had already breached two previous banning orders.

Prosecutor Paul Macauley said Cawley told police he had drunk a number of cans of lager and three-quarters of a litre of vodka before arriving in Sheffield and then had a further seven to 10 pints of cider.

I wouldn't be able to walk, let alone run onto a football pitch and assault somebody, if I'd drank that amount.

Come on gents, yes he's a massive cock but 4 months in prison for shoving someone, albeit in the face, is a pretty strong sentence.

Maybe so, but the banning order didn't work as a deterrent for the horrible little cunt, so maybe banging the fucker up might.

The fact that he did it in full view of [?],000 people (can't be bothered to look up attendance figure) is going to be a factor, surely.  His crime was very visible, so the punishment/deterrent was going to have to be visible as well.  He's a cock and deserves every second of his time inside.

One of the reports that i've read today, says that the court has yet to decide if it will issue a 5 year banning order.
With his scant regard for previous banning orders and now a conviction, you would have thought that they would
have wanted to send a tougher message.

I always thought a banning order also required the person to report to his local police station at kick-off time to prove he aint at a game
