No.

Why the need of an independent one?

Not that I'm a mortgage adviser either, just interested.

Most non independent mortgage advisers have a wide range of lenders to use. Pretty much all of the major lenders you'd be aware of. Plus they'd also have links to others more specialist lenders that may be able to help you.

It's nit such an issue as investment/pension advisers who mat only have one or two companies to use vs their independent equivalents who's have the whole of Market to choose from although in truth they probably have their top two or three favourites.

I should point out here I am talking proper mortgage advisers not bank or building society employees who should be avoided unless you've done your homework and know exactly what deal you want and from where.

Independant Mortgage Advisors not working on commision. Now that virtually rules out the list to be fair.
It is that impartial advice that is difficult to come across.
Even now by "law" it is almost impossible to get any financial institutions to give you advice on what to do, they are simply not allowed.

Tough call but your best bet is to shop around.
My Mortgage is with ING now (previously was then the Abbey National). Best decision I ever made with every interest reduction passed down to me.
All contact is over the internet or phone and they have been excellent.
Well worth a look.
