Title: Injuries Post by: Saxondale on Thursday, September 6, 2012, 11:18:10 We've got a few at the moment. Anyone know when people are expected back?
Troy AH Gary Roberts Ritchie Collins Personally I reckon they're all pretty important 1st team players. I know we have the squad that should be able to cope without them but Id quite like to see a strong defence of Macca and TAH with Roberts and Ritchie pinging balls into Collins and Williams. Title: Re: Injuries Post by: Flashheart on Thursday, September 6, 2012, 11:19:26 We do seem to have a few too many. I hope it's just bad luck.

Secret beatings dished out to any dissidents who fall out with PDC in the "punishment block" hidden in a secret unlit basement under the mysterious hidden concourse in the South Stand. If you listen carefully on a matchday, you can just about hear the screams. Or it could be the tannoy playing up again Title: Re: Injuries Post by: Power to people on Thursday, September 6, 2012, 11:58:43 Sounded like Collins & Ritchie should be available for Sat

I was impressed by both in pre season and would really like to see how we go with them back. Title: Re: Injuries Post by: Bob's Orange on Thursday, September 6, 2012, 12:18:34 I find that the injuries in the squad aren't reported very well by the adver. Maybe this is done purposely but it would be good to know that Matt Ritchie was out with a hammy etc, it all seems to be pretty quiet.

http://i.imgur.com/eOdwj.gifon a serious note, heavier training is likely to cause the odd injury and is probably just an unfortunate effect of our increased fitness or something Title: Re: Injuries Post by: Saxondale on Thursday, September 6, 2012, 16:43:05 But if he's fit I thought this weekend he would be needed by Ireland U21s Or maybe it's not this weekend he's been called up for Ive written rib injury 4 times on this bloody forum. Anyway. U21's play tonight. I'm guessing he wasn't deemed fit enough to train with their squad for a game tonight and thus he was allowed to stay with us. In the interim period his injury has lessened, probably enough for a light session today and a full session tomorrow therefore he can take his place in the town team on Saturday if his services are called upon. Perhaps if he is fit he will then have to travel after the games to join the U21 squad in Italy for the game on the 10th. Has that cleared that up? Title: Re: Injuries Post by: Peter Venkman on Thursday, September 6, 2012, 17:08:14 I realised he had a rib injury - I just didn't know when he was needed for Ireland U21s I beleive when a player is called up for an international match the players fitness is judged at the squad get together stage normally so even if there is a chance the player could be fit in time for the game they don't often call them up in case the injury worsenes leaving their relative club physios to do the job rather than the internatinal physio. This is more relevant in the U21s and U19 rather than the full national side, and then only if the player is considered as an important member of the team at full international level e.g Rooney for England would he be allowed to join the squad while carrying an injury. Title: Re: Injuries Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Thursday, September 6, 2012, 17:39:00 Think Paolos tough pre season means we probably pick up more minor injuries at the start of the season as opposed to throughout.
