Did you edit Calne to get them there? Can you play in their league?

got oxford from div3 to prem in 4 seasons (2 seasons in div3), then left at the start of our first season in the prem for chelski. have just won the league in my first season, scoring over 100 goals and getting about 96 points. in the uefa cup final and the fa semi is my next match, 1st div spurs so that one's a dead cert victory for me.

oxford are about 11th in the prem in their 1st season.

Playing FM as Wycombe post patch. It's quite hard work, but I'm in my 2nd season and I'm pretty sure next year I'll go up. Starting a new game after the patch is apparently much harder because so many people complained that the original was far too easy.

I found it pretty tough actually, much harder than the earlier versions. Although it was a piece of piss with some tactics I downloaded, but I wanted to play a standard 4-4-2.

much harder than the demo. i was top at xmas by 5 points in the demo. but i spose they make it easier so tyou enjoy it more and buy it.

anyway, first season looked like i was going well but lost parkin and rhys.
the infamous first summer or free transfers i got some beautys but sort of over signed

clayton ince
jeff whitley
frank sinclair
steffen freund
wade elliot
dani rodrigues
george ndah
mark burchill.

and a few more i cant remember. a few too many strikers and im selling quite a few at the moment. leaking goals for fun because i didnt have anyone who could header outside the 2 centre halfs. signed carl cort for 100k to counter that , and his partnership with dani rodrigues is blossoming. second season about 7th, just beaten oxford 3-0 away at the kasstad. i set my keeper to roll it out and pass it short but he still boots it in the air and the opponents win it and build an attack   :(

Haven't played FM for ages...

I got promoted via PO's in first season, and I'm sat mid table half way through the next in the Championship, sold Fallon for a cool 3mill

Played 3 and a bit seasons. Won the play offs as Wycombe in my third year and then took over at Crewe (also in League 1) as they had £7m to spend. I've spent about a mill which isn't a lot when you consider there weren't any DRs, DLs, AMRs and AMLs, and in mid table in Sept or Oct.

I've just made a fuckload of cash from a televised FA cup 1st round game with Brissle City.

Gobbed off loads at Tinnion before the game at trashton gate, i went 2 up inside 15 mins. got cocky and didnt go more defensive and they equalised.

Beat the fuckers 2-0 at th CG and told the world how crap tinnion is

I've added Tony Dinning (£6k!) and Trevor Benjamin (£24k) to my squad now too

2nd after 17 games now

Paolo Vernazza from Watford. Get him on loan, he is brilliant. Scored something like 20 goals in 30 games from Centre Midfield. 8)

Also, there is Alexander Farnerud, but he will probably be too expensive.

I'm on FM05, about 12 league games in I think.  I'm second behind Hull playing 4-5-1 (I did it before King!!) and finding it a bit easy for my liking.  I am out of the League CUp having lost to Tottenham 2-0 at home in the second round, but still in LDV having beaten Exeter 1-0 after Extra Time and Colchester 2-0.  Parkin has only scored 4 in the 15 games he's playe,d but Igoe has got 8 from central midfield so it's all good.

Have signed midfielder Shane Tudor from Cambridge, and did have Brian Cash on loan from Nott Forest but he's gone back now.

Yes it is.  I do find the game harder than pre-patch, when it was a joke, but now it's too easy.  I'm winning games without trying, and lets be honest, I'm pretty crap at this game!  I've never won a cup before!

I got to the premiership with successive promotions but haven't played for a couple of weeks. The first season in the premiership is always the hardest as Swindon barely give you any budget at all so it will probably be a relegation battle next season.

i'm 9 points clear with 5 games left! just lost the LDV final to sheff weds though boooooo

i started the game unemployed, after about 3 months mansfield offered me the job (very andy kingesque!) sitting in mid table, my midfield is made up of 4 loan signings, bare thin squad. Will make some investments in the summer!

I sold Fallon to Gillingham last night for (wait for it)

£1.4m cash
25% of next fee
£45k if he scores 10 goals for them

SUCKERS!

I won the league by 10 points in the first season, desperatly trying to get some new players in for the championship. Got given £300k to spend (wooo!) although i've got 90% of the fallon fee which means £1.5m to spend.

Any recomendations for bosmans at the end of the first season peeps?

On FM there's an option to offer a player to other clubs on loan but you can't add any clubs. Anyone come accross this? Pretty annoying to be honest.

yeah i tried that the other day, i'm not sure whether you're meant to be able to select clubs. i got a message back saying nobody was interest in taking my player on loan, but only tried that one time.

Post by: Boeta on Wednesday, January 5, 2005, 20:14:34
That message was because you weren't able to add any clubs, the same comes up when you forget to add any clubs when you're offering a player out for a transfer, as well.

If he can get a work permit (please god please) I've signed 16yr old wonderkid Freddy Adu for £500k compensation

Also signed Jon Otsemobor from Liverpool for £450k rising to £700k on apperances and Michael Hughes from Palace on a free.

Decks, where do you play Perpetuini? I got him at the start of the game and played him left or right back for most of the season in the absence of anyone good in those positions

I just received Adu for Wigan on Jan 1st for a bargain £350k compo.

Title: Champ manager/footy manager
Post by: strooood on Thursday, January 6, 2005, 12:37:36
i used to have duke at left back and perpetuini on the bench then if either of my wingers underperformed or i needed to hold onto a lead id push duke onto whichever wing was more suitable and put perpetuini on at left back. he's been so professional about it aswell  8)  and now norwich want him back.

by the way you will get adu. but he's not that good.

Title: Champ manager/footy manager
Post by: Piemonte on Thursday, January 6, 2005, 12:52:28
Does Adu not become god-like in 2-3 seasons?

If he's not that great i may not bother, i thought i'd sign him to make a shedload of money and score a few goals along the way
