Title: Re: Long distance footpaths Post by: dporter on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, 22:56:37 Coate Water is nice. It's very nice, spent loads of time there as a kid. Title: Re: Long distance footpaths Post by: wiggy on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, 23:09:51 I broke a toe in Edale, on the night before starting the Pennine Way. Got up in the night to go for a pee after too much Old Peculiar, and stubbed my to on a tree root in the campsite.
We were camping it (no pansy youth hostels for us), and also were taking 2 golden retrievers, so we were carrying enough dog food to last the trip as well as all our kit. 3 weeks of walking 250+ miles with a broken toe that hurt like buggery every time I put my foot down. Brave man coming on here admitting that you know what buggery feels like |
