Title: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: kaufman on Sunday, April 22, 2012, 12:07:44 This is something that's been irking me for far too long.
Why on earth would you as a Swindon Fan go out of your way to give your own players grief by berating them on Twitter? I'm sick of these johnnie big bollox types who do this and claim to be a supporter. There's no place for it and seeing as how these "fans" have profile pictures I sincerely hope the players or club can pick them out at a game in the future and call them on their behaviour. People talk about our players letting us down these past few weeks, I'm more appalled with some of the Swindon fans on social networks with no social skills. Foderingham, Ferry and Flint have taken the brunt of it this past week. There is an arguement of course to say the players should not be on there at all. Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: Arriba on Sunday, April 22, 2012, 12:17:24 The players should not go on twitter imo.
But cretin fans are there in the grounds too. Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: Ardiles on Sunday, April 22, 2012, 12:27:41 I'm sure some of them are not Town fans at all. In a similar vein, it's pretty obvious that some of the texts read out on BBC Radio Wiltshire after match commentaries are rival fans on a wind up. The internet allows anonymity.
Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: Ardiles on Sunday, April 22, 2012, 12:30:56 And you can console yourself with the thought that it's not just us with idiot fans.
Happens everywhere. (http://yellowsforum.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=oufcplayers&action=display&thread=8947) Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: kaufman on Sunday, April 22, 2012, 12:31:25 Part of me Agrees there Arriba but i just think how great it must be as a younger supporter to connect with the players a bit more, it's just a shame they use it in the wrong way. Trust me the Twitter one's are Swindon fans.
And true I've seen worse given out. As i said it's just something that i think could be stamped out by a Swindon Profile keeping an eye on the players RT's when they get something wrong. An email from the club of some sort I'm sure would make them think twice before doing it again. Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: Peter Venkman on Sunday, April 22, 2012, 13:16:05 Like Ardiles says i am sure that not all of them are Swindon fans, they just pretend to be.
Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: tans on Sunday, April 22, 2012, 13:29:04 Name and shame!

Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: Ardiles on Sunday, April 22, 2012, 16:29:05 I signed up to twitter a few days ago because my brother told me it was a good way to get club news. I follow 5 people, all STFC related and have yet to 'tweet'. I'm not sure I ever will.
Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: Batch on Sunday, April 22, 2012, 16:31:02 If following Town players is your thang, then here are a few to search for and follow:

I still have the odd look on there though To be fair it is good for info from the club if you follow the official feed, especially if you are not local. Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: Sippo on Sunday, April 22, 2012, 19:22:36 Think I might be better off sticking to the TEF A lot of crap is spouted on here as well though. Probably just as much. Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: tans on Sunday, April 22, 2012, 19:30:52 One bloke posted that he wants di canio out and he will be singing it. What a mong
Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: dporter on Sunday, April 22, 2012, 19:32:22 One bloke posted that he wants di canio out and he will be singing it. What a mong Well he'll be the only one, what a knob! On the other hand Foderingham seemed to get a good welcome yesterday http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qdhuzRk7FdQ Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: Essexred on Sunday, April 22, 2012, 19:39:04 That cock on Twitter saying he wants di Canio out is only about 12, Tans. Sure his mum will tell him off for spouting such nonsense.

Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: SuggWillSugg MBE on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, 10:32:02 Basically seems that everyone on twitter & the facebook fans group is going on about a bust up and training yesterday and supposedly Paolo storming out.
Obvious the normal bollocks, but seems quite a few people were tweeting about it. However looking back it seems more people were doing what I had done and tweeting about seeing different things on twitter, rather than the rumours themselfs... Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: Batch on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, 10:48:40 Interesting rumour. Even if its true its something that happens, its something else Paolo will have to deal with at whichever club he ends up at.
Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: BenTheRed on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, 10:52:09 I always thought 'bust ups' are something that sometimes happens every now and then on the training ground, and thats not unusual.
What worries me is PdC's reaction to these, unpredictable. Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: tans on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, 10:53:46 Everybody just believe

Even if its true its something that happens, its something else Paolo will have to deal with at whichever club he ends up at. Indeed, there is bound to be friction when you spend a few hours a day with the same people EVERY day. Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: Batch on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, 10:56:16 I always thought 'bust ups' are something that sometimes happens every now and then on the training ground, and thats not unusual. What worries me is PdC's reaction to these, unpredictable. Indeed. Heard from a fairly reliable source last year for example McGovern and someone had a set to. Yet it was all over a few days later. PDC mood swings are always unpredictable. Not always a good thing, but he'll do what he wants as the song goes. Past worrying about it now. Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: Costanza on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, 11:01:40 Given the last week it was inevitable that such rumours would circulate during the build-up to what is now our biggest game of the season (and I genuinely think it is).
Players want to win trophies and my hope is that this fact alone will see us over the line. Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: jayohaitchenn on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, 11:10:29 It's a "Must Not Lose" game on saturday.
Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: Gnasher on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, 11:12:56 It's a "Must Not Lose" game on saturday. :D It should be like a cup final. The players know they will lift a trophy at the end of the game if they win. Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: Costanza on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, 11:25:21 :D It should be like a cup final. The players know they will lift a trophy at the end of the game if they win. Don't tell them that for goodness sake (given our last two trophy performances). I'm including that hashtag in any swindon tweets I do from now on Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: Bob's Orange on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, 12:02:18 Genius, the power of twitter will take them to the play-offs! I'm including that hashtag in any swindon tweets I do from now on Have to cringe for them! Its great that we can now sit back, relax and watch them implode this season!! The players know they will lift a trophy at the end of the game if they win. Possibly a daft question, but will they have the trophy at the CG incase they win?Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: Gnasher on Tuesday, April 24, 2012, 12:15:41 Possibly a daft question, but will they have the trophy at the CG incase they win? It hasn't been confirmed, but as we're the only ones who can win the title that day it makes sense. Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: Power to people on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, 12:17:26 I'm sure that the FL prefer to present the trophy at the teams home ground rather than wait for the last game of the season (assuming it is settled)
Title: Re: Swindon "fans" on Twitter Post by: stfcinbmth on Thursday, May 3, 2012, 19:18:00 Conclusion: Twitter is probably the biggest lot of old bollox I've ever come across. Time to delete account
