Cryer always peddled the 'supporters expectations' tag line, whereby if a manager ever stated they wanted promotion, or top 6, and they didnt achieve it he would slaughter them. He's still doing it now, up in Blackburn. Theres always a balance to be struck between being supportive of the club, but not hiding from the real issues.
