I've recently been weighing up the possibility of not living at halls for the last part of term. I'll save myself 2 grand (I'm skint so could use the cash) but my social life would take a real nosedive as I'd be living on my own (parents own a house in London). Would you rather have the money and a shit social life or be a social pauper?

I got kicked out today, so there's no decision to make. Oh well the money's decent. Me and the warden have come to a financial agreement that if I leave before the end of this term I get some money back for this term too.

I got stitched up by a complete and utter cunt who's been winding me up for months. He finally got the reaction he wanted on Thursday night and has added some bullshit to the equation too. He's also got about 10 people to back him up and lie for him, I can't compete with that. I'm good at defending myself but not that good.

I would love to knock him out but that will hardly help the situation.

I used to be friends with him and then he started being a complete cunt. We were alright until about 2 weeks ago, always saying hi to each other etc, then he suddenly changed. Ever since then he's been posting things about me online, cherryknocking my door, winding me up all the time. On Thursday I finally lost it and threatened him. I started on him (not in the hall) and he ran to the warden. I was silly to react but oh well, you live and learn.

It's an intercollegiate hall, so there's no danger of being kicked out of UCL.

If word gets to your uni that you've been kicked out of halls and threatening hall-mates, they aren't going to be too chuffed with it.

As for the house decision, I'd say it depends where the house is. Anywhere in Zone 1 or 2 and you can still maintain a good social life if you hang out in your mates' halls enough, as it's easy enough to get home late etc

I'm at International Hall, which is in Russell Square.

And the house is in Zone 2, but near the border with Zone 3.

Blimey, you got kicked out for losing your cool and sending a few texts? There were tons of fights in my halls last year with no consequences afterwards. In one of them somebody got their nose broken but our warden was making jokes about it at our next formal a few weeks later!

Is there definitely nothing else to this, like a sustained string of threatening text messages or something?
