Always been impressed with this man...a Pinehurst boy done good....played local footy as a boy in Swindon and went on to earn an England cap while also an ever present at West Brom. Take this relatively recent bit about Ray Barlow....couple of years ago Quote I suppose there are two names which readily spring to mind on this subject....daddy of the lot is Ray Barlow. Barlow is a West Brom legend, recently voted in their top 16 all time...won the FA Cup and played for England...Barlow was spotted playing for Garrards in the Wilts League, in 44, by Jimmy Cookson, who played for the Baggies, finished at STFC just prior to the War and was running a pub in Swindon Always assumed that because the country was still in a state after the war, it was easy for a talent like this to slip through the Town net.
