Was probly a nice car before all the amature mods to it. Opening the bonnet and trying to fan out the flames only increases them! typical yanks.

Horrible, false power. Can't beat a big, powerful Normally Aspirated engine *cough* Type R *cough*    :soapy tit wank:

false power? thats called nitrous mate :P

my car aint lightning quick, 150ish bhp,  clutch is starting to slip too :( but it does me. plus nobody knows what it is :)

Type Rs, decent enough cars, but its all top end stuff. i'm not denying its quick as fuck, but theres quicker cars to be had for the same money...

Title: For those who like cars

Name one  :soapy tit wank:

It's a misconception that Type R's are all top end power. My one is an 05 plate with the lighter flywheel and the torque is strong from 3k rpm. People say their all top end because VTEC engages at 5800 rpm and think their gutless below that, just not true.

For £16k you will not get a faster car.

0-60 in 6.6 secs and 0-100 in 16 secs

New Astra VXR has 237 bhp but weighes nearly 1400 kg so the power to weight ratio is 170 bhp per tonne (4 more than Type R).  In 2007 the new Type R arrives and i can't wait  :D

Title: For those who like cars

apparently the new Type R is supposed to be horrid.
It's had a face lift which has made it look nasty.

Friend of mine was looking at one for the new year and has seen pictures of it and apparently it's horrid.
Much like what Subaru did to the Impreza.

In a way i have to agree with Legget. Type R's power only comes at 5800rpm.
Until then it's quite ordinary. With only 145lb torque there isn't much to pull it along until the Vtec kicks in. Once in the Vtec it flies but out of it i think it struggles.
Now what you need is a Turbo just to help the 2k - 5krpm range and the car would be a flyer.

New Type R hasn't been even confirmed yet, only concept models.

Oh no, rev's suck, its low down torque u need, ie a supercharger (instant go), or a turbo charger  (2 are better one high pressure and one low pressure), im sure most R-Type are fun, but u arent going to break any records compared to evo-scooby-skyline- type of thing,,, and Magic u r spot on mate, turbo's are great but add nitrous oxide or laughing gas as we know it, it will increases the engine power big time, shove no2 on a 1.3 metro and it will keep up with and r-type (in a strait line) so just imagine what it will do to a car with 280 bhp (impreza) as standard..............

i once raced a car up Santa Pod which was running on NOS.
I just had my slightly bog standard GTE 16v and he was in some kind of old big engined thing. Anyway about half way up i see a little puff of smoke out the back of his and away he went. He finished in 13.4 and i ran in 15.2 (not bad for my first ever go)

As a Honda worker in Swindon who builds Civic's and of course the Type R! The new Type R is not a face lift but a complete new car within the new generation 'Civic Concept'.

The existing Type-R is the fastest car in its class for a mere £16,000 with a 2.0 litre 197Bhp lump.

The new Type- R will be a bit more I reckon but it will have a 2.4 litre engine and kick in excess 225Bhp!

No Type R pics have been realeased i assure you.

I'm a regular on Type R forum and know a guy on there from from Honda UK.

As for the 1.3 Litre Metro with Nos keeping up with a Type R  :soapy tit wank:
It will be quick i certainly agree but more Saxo VTR pace than the current breed of 200 bhp hatches.

Hot hatches are all about fun and the main factor is weight.

Type R weighes 1204 kg

New Astra VXR, Golf GTi, Megane Trophy, Cupra R and Focus ST all weigh 1350-1400 kg.

Power to weight ratio is what matters.

It's wrong to think because a car has less torque it will be slower. The standard Impreza WRX has 222 bhp and 221 lb/ft of torque BUT only manages 0-100 mph in 16 secs (same as Type R). The STi is a different matter though, very fast.

never heard the scooby one as chavs can't afford decent cars.
But Saxo's are owned by kids. Same as Fiesta Z-tec's. Those two cars are the new Nova's of today.

Reason people stereo type BMW owners cos most of them* seem to come with a bluetooth earpiece, cheap sunglasses and think they're kings of the roads.

This is an explanation of the Type R's i-VTEC engine for those doubting it.

Of course without some form of forced induction, getting such high power outputs from just two litres requires high revs, which in turn requires cams with high lift and long duration to provide sufficient valve opening to allow the engine to draw in large amounts of air/fuel mix. Great at high revs but crap at low revs, which is a real problem for a road car - or would be without Honda's ingenious VTEC system, which works by literally having two camshafts in one, with three cams (two mild ones sandwiching a central wild one) for each pair of valves.
In normal running the mild cams do the work, operating the valves via rocker arms just like with an ordinary 16-valve engine. The clever bit happens around 5850rpm when pins lock the previously redundant central rocker arm to the two outer ones, at which point the valves are then controlled by the high lift, long duration cam, providing the improved breathing the engine needs to run at high revs.

No he didnt. The old fucker catches a bus from Grove in the morning so is at work half hour before me at 6.50. HE FINNISHED OFF HIS TEAM and then STUCK THE DREAM TEAM SUN UNDER YESTERDAYS ROTTING FOOD IN THE SKIP! He then asked me 'if id finnished my team yet?'. To which I replied he was a yiddish cunt and to go grow himself a foreskin (hes spurs). Il put his picture up on here if hes not careful.  :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick:

I had of course foreseen the act of sabotage and therefore bought todays sun. But the dream team sheet was nowhere to be found. Turns out Iv got to wait for fridays.

Ive done one for the Star. But the 0905 number didnt work on the work phone and Im buggered if Im gonna spend 8 quid on it. That can go in the post.
