Title: Revived
Post by: Azza on Monday, March 5, 2012, 07:49:20
It's a cracking morning and I feel quite at peace with the world, with that game gone and out of the way normality has arrived again.

We have a big week with two sides at opposite ends of the table which, should we win, could give us a 12 point gap to 4th and at worst 9.

It's 14 games to go including a trip to Wembley, a manager who wants to be here, players who want to play for the club, a board with ambition and fans turning up every week.

I look forward now and it's a good time to be a Swindon fan.

Great post to wake up to. Amen to everything you say son!

5 more league games in march with 4 of them at home.  13 points please and I'll put the champers on ice :-)

I love my Swindon  :)

No nervous nelly stuff on Tuesday from us fans please. lets get behind them and pretend Oxford didn't happen. Pretend Oxford doesn't exist.

As has already been said Oxford were our Bogey this season and with all bogies you just need to roll them up and flick em away.

Saturday was a distraction and now we can concentrate on winning the league

Fully agree, weve got a massive task to concentrate on now, without all the bollocks that came along with the Pox game. A result against both Dags and Cheltenham will be massive for us, this is the week that can really define our season.

Dagenham have picked up form recently so it won't be an easy game. The fans need to back the players if things aren't going our way because a minor blip can quickly turn into a bad run.

Exactly. I fear we fans will start to put them under pressure if we aren't careful. The reason a 10 game record win streak is a record is because it is by definition exceptional. We won't win every game, which is fine.

The other season we beat Leeds twice. They went up and we didn't.

We need to do the same. Business as usual and get promoted.

He who laughs last and all that.

Just think of it as 30 points out of a possible 33 - who wouldn't want that!!

Really strange at work today surrounded by the Pox scum.

No pisstaking. WTF!!!!!
Last year they couldn't wait to rip into me when they arrived at work. This morning it was a case of "I can see why you are top" and "you played us off the park again, we just got the goals"

They really have had their moment and seem not wanting to be reminded that we are top of the league and still the best footballing side in it. Thought I was going to have a mare today but have enjoyed it.

the loss was coming, you could tell from the last few games. i am glad we've got it out the way now hopefully (knowing town like i do) we didn't really disgrace ourselves saturday, and the players were still trying to score and win even in the 89th minute and kind of took away the pain of losing to our nearest and dearest.

i'll be there with my old man on tuesday night backing the town COYRS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturday was an aberration.

Back to normal tomorrow with another 2-0 win.

That's because they know come May we'll be the ones laughing.

I'm not leaving anything to chance, pre-match Jagerbombs will be had.

There was a good point made on the radio this morning.  It is one thing to be winning games with the odd draw thrown in, but to go on a 10 game winning run puts a lot of extra pressure on the players with them being scared to make a mistake. It could well have been a monkey on their backs, so Saturdays loss could well be a blessing in disguise.

We still need to sing our hearts out and encourage them for the next couple of games though.
