Title: Norway Red
Post by: Talk Talk on Thursday, March 1, 2012, 22:39:09
Chaps and chapesses

Hans (Norway Red) can't make it to Wembley as he is a bit hard up and stuff after moving house.

http://thewashbag.com/2012/03/01/the-winter-stfc-review-from-a-norwegian-point-of-view/ (http://thewashbag.com/2012/03/01/the-winter-stfc-review-from-a-norwegian-point-of-view/)

Look, the guy is Town through and through.

How about we get together and put a tenner in each to getting the bloke over for the JPT final? It would only take 70 of us.

Come on, he deserves it. I'm happy to organise and all that shit.

Alan

If we can generate enough then yeah, sure. He can stay at my house if it means that he can get down to the CG after the match and fly back on Monday.

Is this thread a fucking piss take??

By his own admission; he's just moved to a larger house, he's booked a summer holiday - and presumably is in work.

He has made a choice not to go to Wembley as he cant afford to do everything.

So why the fuck should we fund a patronising freebie trip for him, exactly?

This is bollocks. And for that reason, I'm out.

Ok, that's fine.

We all have family commitments and can't always plan our expenditure. The bloke has a young family and I can imagine he has pressures that are much more immediate than his interest in football - or more specifically Swindon Town.

It is not as though he can walk out of his front door at midday on Saturday and stroll down to the County Ground or hop in his car to go to see us play at Hereford though, is it? He has to rely on Sky and Player to get his fix. How many matches has he been to this (brilliant) season so far? None.

So you can take a view on his lifestyle, his priorities and yes, you definitely have.

But what would it mean to you to be given the chance to see the mighty reds at Wembley in a final when you knew that once again you could not be there for whatever reason? The guy lives and breathes STFC. Sure, there are a lot of fans who live overseas and they are surely all as deserving.

For once though. Just once. Can we do something collectively for one Swindon fan who has an accident of geography and make his year?

Yes, you're out. No problem. I'm in.

I'm with delta on this one

The guy was 'trying' to work out his finances for a 700 quid weekend stay. Why does he have to stay for the weekend? If he was close to working out the weekend stay finances he will have the money to return the same day. You're giving your money to somebody that doesn't need it.

Still, it's your money

At a time when I know fans who have lost their jobs due to the economic climate and can't even afford to pay their bills let alone a holiday and are under unbelievable stress and can only occassionally get to big games at the expense of paying something else. I find it astounding people are supporting someone who has chosen to move to a bigger house and pay for a holiday. Talk about giving money to money. Wow. I could give you a long list of people who deserve your tenners for a ticket before him. (No offense to Norway Red, he hasn't asked for this and I'm sure he will greatly appreciate the gesture). But wow!

Title: Re: Norway Red
Post by: luckyluke699 on Friday, March 2, 2012, 10:33:09
Yes he's spent money on something else, but sometimes it's just nice to be able do something nice for someone!! And if that person is a proper Town Fan, all the better.

The reality is, I'm not going to miss that tenner once it leaves my wallet. Keeping it won't change my life... but the idea that that genuinely has an impact to someone on here is a pleasing concept.

I'm in.

It's a nice idea, but there's probably plenty of Town fans who can't afford it and we can't start funding them all. Plus it's £10 towards the season ticket increase.  Sorry.

Is Norway Red the bloke who last season virtually morphed into Bart with all his negative dribble?

If he is he can do one. If he's not apologies for the confusion.

He can still do one though.

haha! I agree with all the "fuck that" comments but to be fair to him he hasn't asked for it, he's bought a bigger house and is going on holiday, so he has chosen not to go.

He doesn't need your money, find someone that genuinely has nothing and wants to go but can't, if you have to chuck your money away!

I'm minted ......

I'll pay to have him flown over first class, put up in a 5*hotel for a few days, full and exclusive use of a chauffered limo for him to get around town and I will even have a word and see if I can get him a seat next to Paolo on the bench ......

I will do this all because I know he would do the same for me!

Almost the same for me, just had a fault - that I never knew I had - on my computer fixed by a nice gentleman from India.  He assured me it would run much better now and it only cost £125.  Cannot understand why my bank keeps on ringing now!!!

Good sentiment, bad idea. He seems like a top guy but he seems to be doing pretty well for himself whereas i'm overdrawn as it is and struggling to pay for all these away trips for myself let alone someone else.

I'd be more inclined to be in if it was a random homeless guy from Swindon than someone who's just moved in to a bigger house. Like I said good sentiment...but not sure just how well thought out it was.
