Title: Old Film. Post by: leefer on Saturday, December 24, 2011, 10:04:43 My Mother and father in law chucked out an old cine camera a few weeks back with some other household rubbish...i took it up the tip....four old films from the sixties were in the box.....chuck em out they said, they have been open to the light.
I wasnt convinced.......so i took them to Jessops in the Town centre who are doing a deal at present.....for only £25 they converted all four films onto DVD and all four onto a new cine film for a projector. The result.....22 mins of old holidays and the dog they owned.....the kids(who are now in there fifties).....we gave them it as an early prezzy and the tears flowed, they were gobsmacked and so happy. It was certainly a nice time sitting there with them watching it....and of course they can burn off copies for all the family. So if you have old cine or Kodak film get into Jessops and convert it to DVD.....it is still half price. Title: Re: Old Film. Post by: Fred Elliot on Saturday, December 24, 2011, 14:41:06 Brilliant

My Dad converted some old cine film about ten years ago and amongst lots of old family footage there was about ten mins of me, aged about six ripping about the garden with a football at my feet. Christ I had good close control at that age. (And a bizarre haircut, mid 70's and all that) I suppose most kids these days (when they grow up) will be used to seeing themselves on video as children, for me it was a total shock and not something I ever expected to see.... |
