Title: Accringtons weekly wage bill..... Post by: Bideford_Robin on Monday, September 26, 2011, 19:55:06 Interesting comments in yesterdays League Paper from Accrington Stanleys manager John Coleman.......
Having seen his side collect 5 yellow cards/cautions against Oxford Utd he said his side were walking a tightrope for the remainder of the game as a 6th caution would mean a £2,000 fine and that for a club with a weekly wage bill of less than £10,000 is potentially crippling A squad of 21 and a weekly wage bill of less than £10k - average wage of £476.19 at best per player - astounding, though based on their attendance figures etc understandable. Post by: iffy on Monday, September 26, 2011, 20:21:01 If their average gate is 1,500 and the gate price is £15, they're taking at most £22,500 per home game. So players earning £24k-£35k each a year is about right. Anyone know what our wage bill is?

Due to the wage cap I'd guess at around £2m to £2.5m this season.

That's an average though, which means that even some of the players in their squad of 16 each week are likely to be on a fair bit less than that. |
