I very much doubt we offered double what Franchise offered?!

I dunno, it feels like the days of being the poor relation are gone.  We're not sitting on Sheikh money, but I think we're doing alright.  Admittedly, it seems doubtful we'd pay double that of Franchise but nice to linked with such deals...

Chesterfield are paying most of clarkes wages so it wouldn't suprise me if we offered a fair amount

Am i being stupid? The headline "Morrison rejects Swindon’s load bid for Sheffield Wednesday’s Di Canio" makes no sense to me...

What did you expect? The paper's from 'Ooop North', makes sense that you can't understand what they're saying.

Noticed this too!

And me... I assumed it was some swipe at Swindon about Sheff Wednesday having more of a claim to di Canio, but maybe it's me being overly defensive...

Ex Adver journo now with PA just tweeted:

SWINDON: Morrison one of five strikers Town chasing on loan

Five?

I took it to mean five potential targets, meaning five we're looking at, seeing who's available etc etc.

Not that we're actually going after ALL five.

Well so did I but it does seem a touch scattergun. Particularly since last time Paolo bought British he hadn't done his research on their attitude.

On the subject of attitude, Morrison doesn't seem the sort to fall in line with Paolo's strict regime. If I remember rightly, when we played them last season he spent half the game moaning and having a go at his own players... seems a bit Leon-ish

Paolo used to have a go at his team mates too. I don't think that's an issue, he has undoubted qaulity especially at this level too. I don't think having 5 targets is a cause for concern, if the 4 others are of the same quality as CM then that can only be good.

Its encoruaging to see us go after a big name like Morrison, but he does have a huge ego and probably never plans in playing in league two. hopefully the other candidates are of similar quality and experience, I imagine Danny "I used to play in the premiership you know" Cadamarteri is one of the 5.

Pity we didnt get him.  According to the bbc caption on his picture

'Morrison has scored 1,640 goals in 570 career appearances'

Hell of a strike rate!!!

According to Twitter he has just said he didn't reject us...would love him here because he is a natural scorer.
And according to twitter the best manager he has played under is Alan Irvine :hmmm:
