Title: Cheltenham tickets
Post by: Matchworn Shirts on Sunday, August 7, 2011, 08:45:02
I am coming over from Hamburg for this, tried to get through to the ticket office on Fri&Sat to buy some tickets - but couldn't get through. Now bloody spold out
So if anybody has two adult tickets spare, PM me. I'd pay above the face value (not stupid price though)

It might be worth contacting the club and see if they can do anything for you. Haven't they been making noises about the equitable redistribution of players complimentary tickets?

Is there even such a thing as players complimentary tickets? I am sure Jeremy Wray alluded to this in one of his recent interviews.

Yep they do exist. We got some at Plymouth in the cup game last year. The players coach driver just came up and gave them to us which was nice.

Bit different for Cheltenham as this is a genuine all ticket game for our fans, every time.

Hopefully we will get some more relaxed Policing up there this year. We showed a lot of restraint a few years ago in that pub near the ground when they had a big youth mob come in (no Im not taking the piss, there were about 40 of them).

Not sure. The taxi firms we rung claimed it was company policy not to pick up from that pub. Although it wasn't the most salubrious place in the world it didn't look that bad.

It appears via Google street view that the pub is now closed and boarded up.

Does anybody know what our allocation is for this.... have we got the stand along the side as well because everybody i know is in the stand behind the goal so is there the possibility of more tickets for that bit of the stand along the side?

It was 1400, and they gave us the whole lot up front, behind the goal, and on the side.

Pretty sure we have the first three blocks of the stand on the side as well as behind the goal (as we usually do)

We do. There will be plenty of room in the Cheltnum end, if you want to take the risk. I can't see us getting any more tickets unless they're willing to move season ticket holders in the In2Print Stand.

Horrible non league standard ground.
:Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick:  if you think our ground is a standard non league ground you will get a shock when you go to accrington d&r crawley Wimbledon barnet Bristol rovers Macclesfield Torquay Hereford Aldershot. You might find Whaddon road is one of the better grounds in the league with probably the best playing surface in the division apart from last season we have won the best pitch award two years running.

Wimbledon aside, we've been at all of those grounds in the past 5 years.

It suited us last season up until Xmas. With Gloucester using Whaddon for two season the pitch become worn and are home form suffered. Hope daryl duffy is fit saturday we dominated the game at gillingham but couldn't score.Accrington pitch is stil the same how the fook does the football league let them get away with that. ;D

You could go on line book tickets that way and pick up from ticket office on the day. Your best bet is seating because if you score that's a big if  it's just full of the golden oldies in there.try and avoid the terracing parts of the ground it's a bit like your home end behind the goal.but there will be tickets on turnstiles on the day(don't know about seating parts though).

I really really really try to think of Cheltenham as a local derby and disklike them accordingly, but I can't. Its merely slightly irritating that they seem to beat us more than we do them.

So on that note, welcome Ctfc Robin.

Thought the Cheltenham pitch was right up there amongst the best the last time we were in div 2. It was one of the 1 st games of the season but still credit to them. Think we were 1-0 up until there lad hit a long range rocket to finish 1-1. Can't remember his name but think he moved on to Colchester . Looking forward to going sat and if the pitch is still as good we should have no excuses and should make the most of playing on the better pitches we have to visit this season.

I'm quite happy to stand as I have fuck all expectation of us scoring, drawing or winning. Regardless of how good / bad we are or how well / bad we play my expectation os a good day out and defeat. Even the 1-1 draw we got there we absolutely slaughtered you. the other two times we were just shite.
I can't dislike you guys. You're our nearest rivals but I actually have a grudging respect for CTFC.

I've stood on the side bit of terracing before.  Plenty of other Swindon in there, and no hassle at all.  I'm pretty sure it's pay on the day as well.

If the rioting isnt brought under control tonight then every game in the country will be in doubt for saturday. If this escalates any more they will want every available officer on the streets of the big cities, and smaller forces like Glos and Wilts will be expected to send maximum resources.

Fingers crossed the country finally gets on top of the scum tonight.

Indeed Spenser, sport would be under threat due to resourcing. Can games legally be marshalled without a Police presence.

The looting by Cheltenham natives will be limited to mixed olives  (Waitrose finest) and Perrier.

By all accounts it has been quieter tonight.  Trouble in Manchester and Birmingham but London much less.  Hopefully the test match will start tomorrow and all of this nonsense will be over to allow a full schedule of games on Saturday up and down the country.

I'm certainly not aware of any - there's typically not much trouble at many Cheltenham games.

I do believe though that they share our dislike for Oxford
