Title: Listening To Test Matches In France
Post by: Nomoreheroes on Saturday, July 9, 2011, 21:26:06
Want to do this when I'm on holiday in France. Won't have any free internet so was thinking of just buying a cheap FM/MW/LW radio so I can listen whilst sunning myself. Any recommendations?

This ones quite a good one, reasonably priced and a brand name, gives you FM/MW/LW and a load of shortwave frequencies, you should be able to get the world service on it, not sure if BBC WS does cricket commentaries.Got some good reviews on amazon too
There are cheaper ones to be had but not sure what their reception quality would be like.

Hope this helps

Depends on where you go. Up north, you can probably pick up some UK stations. If you head down south, you have internet or 106.5 Riviera Radio which gives regular updates but not ful coverage. Obtuse than that you're best off finding a 'British' boozer and perching in there.

Cheers DBRS - Had a look at that one and some cheaper ones on Amazon. Wasn't sure whether this would be good enough:

Ironside - Boozer isn't an option. Need to be sober and as the back and call of the family at all times!

Yeah but will you be able to pick up UK broadcasts on one of those?

Like I said, depends on where you are but if you want any pointers for venues along the Cote d'Azur, I might be able to help.

I could pick up R4 in La Vendee and in Geneva on my car radio. So, hopefully, in Brittany this year, the cheapy Roberts will get TMS for me! ;0)

Pretty sure you'll get Long Wave 198 out there no problem?
