Unsmoked for breakfast and sarnies.

Smoked sometimes is better when using as an ingredient in recipes..

Smoked is nice if you're wrapping it around some stuffed chicken or the like.

Unsmoked definitely if used in sandwiches.

Neither answer is wrong providing said bacon is between 2 slices of well buttered bread/ inside a well buttered crusty roll/ half a french stick and accompanied by HP brown.

The smoked bacon in my fridge is a week out of date. I'm going to eat it anyway.

With some poached eggs because I'm feeling healthy.

Post that pic up again of your breakfast sarnie.
What was it; bacon, sausage, egg, mushrooms, fried bread?
I had a semi and was foaming at the mouth just from looking at it.

Unsmoked FFS......

Completely agree here. Eating an unsmoked bacon sarnie is like eating the tongue of a leather shoe, all texture and no taste.

Just to add to the thread.

Crispy bacon or noncrispy bacon? Im a non crispy, smoked with ketchup on white bread man myself.

When I was a kid, there were no supermarkets, so your bacon was sliced off a flitch, and you could say how thick you wanted it.  It used to have a little bit of bone in it, which I found annoying, because you couldn't eat it, and was a fiddly thing to cut out.

The bacon slicer was a fine bit of kit....I'm sure they still must exist, but haven't seen one in years.

Always smoked and fried in butter until the fat is nice and crispy.  Fluffy white bread (Hovis) and some kethcup, or BBQ sauce if I'm feeling adventurous, to top it all off.
