Now i know it is rather childish and well to be frank a tad boring, but how does it work, the Copperfield Trick?

It is old so can anyone explain.

It has been bugging me.

Look at the two images, the sets of cards are completely different in both. All the cards 'disappear' no matter which one you choose.
