RIP Sandy Martin.

Thinking of his family. My Mrs briefly worked with Mrs Martin. He has twins exactly the same age as my youngest :(

"Was a stalwart of my Saturday night at the Rooms"

Was a stalwart of Swindon Radio in general.

Real shame, you got to feel for the kids...

RIP

Feel like I grew up with him from Wednesday's nappy night at the Brunel Rooms through Disco Trekking and a familiar voice on the radio when back in Swindon. RIP

Used to see him on the bus from town to old town only 3 months ago - nonethewiser.

He also seemed to show a genuine interest in the town and the football club, even though he was from the north east. A great shame.

My missus looked after his twins in special care, so knew the family quite well. He was a proper gent apparently. Such a young age to pass away.

That's terrible news.  A name I've not heard in years...but remember him well.  RIP Sandy.

Having worked with him, he was a genuinely warm and utterly lovely man. Always interested in others and without ego, despite his success.

This is really, really sad news. I'm too young to have remembered him from the Brunel room days, but have met him on a few occasions and always had time to stop and chat, a generally really nice bloke. Thoughts are with his friends and especially his family. Poor kids, not to grow up with a dad. It puts everything else in perspective.

I used to play footy with him back in the day - top bloke and like everyone has said very genuine and friendly.

RIP Sandy.
