Title: ST Renewals Post by: ronnie21 on Thursday, March 17, 2011, 20:32:44 We have not heard from the club re renewals. Have we been unlucky or is there anybody else not received a renewal notice? Perhaps the club has decided to cut their losses on the assumption that nobody will renew!!! Rung them today and was told that they had passed the contract for renewal notices out to a third party!!

Rung them today and was told that they had passed the contract for renewal notices out to a third party!! I haven't had anything either, nor has my dad. He has a different surname and address to me, so can't be they're going through the alphabet or anything. We're in the not renewing camp at the moment anyway and if we don;t get anything through, I certainly won't be chasing them. Really can't argue with the prices even if we are in the bottom division and gotta say the staff in the ticket office were top notch. We really do seem to be sorted now as far as 'off the pitch' stuff is concerned, just hope Fitton & co stick around long enough to sort it on the pitch. I can then start to polish up my rose-tinted specs and begin anticipating a cracking league 2 promotion season Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: Chippy Red on Wednesday, March 30, 2011, 12:33:22 Probably been mentioned by others but not been about lately. Any one see Derby County offering a deal on season tickets where if you are not impressed by summer singings you can have your money back before season starts. I can imagine some that renew would consider getting thier money back if they found Dossevi and Perricard still Swindon players next year, maybe even if Hart was manager. Is a good price if renewed before deadline but what people are buying we have no idea as could be a new manager and 15 new players. But of what quality ?

Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: Anteater on Wednesday, March 30, 2011, 22:23:10 Possibly the worst season I've ever seen us have, relegation imminent, season ticket price going up, personal finances less than they were, no one I can honestly consider as player of the year, potentially Hart or Trollope ending up next seasons manager, probably all of my mates not bothering next season, no letter from club about renewals...........yet still I've just decided to renew?????.........FUCKING STFC !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: Simon Pieman on Wednesday, March 30, 2011, 22:38:51 It's what being a fan is all about. Who expected the highs of last season? They just happen and if you're there to enjoy the ride then it's all the sweeter.

The worrying thing is that next year in the 4th division they are the type of players that we are likely to attract. I am amazed that we have sold this many I really thought we would struggle to break 2,500. If this is true, then the loyal STFC fans deserve someone far more inspirational than the likes of Paul Trollope, to be our manager next season. Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: jimbob on Sunday, April 3, 2011, 17:41:22 I've not renewed and have no intention of doing so...haven't quite figured out what my Saturday afternoons will consist of though but guess I can see myself getting to half of our home games...someone do the math for me based on attending 12 out of 23 home games next season please?
Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: Doctor Bamber on Sunday, April 3, 2011, 17:45:42 if thats true, then its quite an amazing figure. considering that the renewal price now is the same as this time last season, when were asked for 250 notes for a (what was then) extremely strong chance of championship football. this year we are all renewing in the surefire knowledge that it will be 4th division, at the same price.
quite extraordinary. I had to have three extra pints in the county ground hotel to get up the courage to go in and renew mine I am still convinced that, when this season is just a bad memory, the club will do what they have promised they wont, and reduce the day ticket prices for 4th div football, and those of us who put our hands in our pockets now, will be royally shafted for our loyalty. If they put the pie prices up as well that will be the final straw Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: Nemo on Sunday, April 3, 2011, 17:47:07 My suspicion is that the early bird prices are so low that everyone who is going to renew has done so now, and we won't see many more before the start of the season unless we appoint a major name as manager.
Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: lambourn red on Sunday, April 3, 2011, 17:48:46 I've not renewed and have no intention of doing so...haven't quite figured out what my Saturday afternoons will consist of though but guess I can see myself getting to half of our home games...someone do the math for me based on attending 12 out of 23 home games next season please? 12 x 22 = 264 if you buy matchday, 12 x 20 = 240 if you buy before each matchday compared to 259 for ST. Unless you really want to retain the seat you are in because of the people around you etc then you are going to be better off paying as you go. Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: joteddyred on Sunday, April 3, 2011, 19:07:12 My suspicion is that the early bird prices are so low that everyone who is going to renew has done so now, and we won't see many more before the start of the season unless we appoint a major name as manager. We renewed late this afternoon having been completely adamant that we weren't going to and it looks like a lot more than anticipated have done the same. After the absolute shite we've endured this season, it would be really nice if Fitton and Co voiced their thanks to those of us that are sticking by the club next season (and those that aren't renewing for that matter). It's the least we deserve. They really need to take a long hard think about their next move and make damn sure it's the right one. Appoint the wrong manager, bring in more crap players and start off badly next season and the patience of the supporters will wear very thin quickly. Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: Ralphy on Sunday, April 3, 2011, 19:09:09 3,500 season ticket holders is impressive for the 4th division.
I reckon we might make 4500 to be honest. Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Sunday, April 3, 2011, 19:09:52 Fiancée and dad have - I haven't

Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: Nemo on Sunday, April 3, 2011, 19:32:21 youre engaged to your DAD??? is that legal? If you're being pendantic, at least be right. If they were the same person it would be "fiance and dad has" not "have". Double pedantry points. Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: Ginginho on Monday, April 4, 2011, 10:34:24 It seems they've extended the Phase 1 renewal until Friday.
Slightly annoying as I went out of my way on Friday to pop down there and renew in time. Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: ronnie21 on Monday, April 4, 2011, 14:54:31 I didn't know it was being extended, but I informed Nick W. that there were a lot of people who had received nothing from the club re renewals. He told me they were ringing people who hadn't renewed and offering a short-time extension, must be this Friday.
Cue, loads of people saying now that nobody has rung them!!! Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Monday, April 4, 2011, 18:19:13 3,500 season ticket holders is impressive for the 4th division. I reckon we might make 4500 to be honest. Nah that's a bit too optimistic. We won't sell many after the deadline. That's exactly why the board have extended it. Quote With all outstanding Season Ticket renewals now completed, Phase 2 prices will now be in operation from 9am on this Wednesday 6th April. Over 3,300 supporters have already renewed for next season, and the club are hopeful to see a similarly positive take-up during Phase 2. 3300 not too bad all things considered. Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: RJack on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, 11:56:45 Can't see many more people taking up Season Tickets tbh after Phase 1 prices. I certainly wouldn't pay £299 if i could get it for £259 in Phase 1 unless i was flush.
Any more uptakes will be new season ticket holders or the odd late renewal. Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: GoldersGreenRed on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, 11:58:49 My intake of games will definitely be reduced next season
Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: Luci on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, 12:04:26 No contact from the club either...not that it would make me renew unless they fancy paying for my train fare back to Swindon every other week.
I'll try and get to away games mostly I'd imagine next year. Will be easier. Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, 17:30:57 We wont get anything over 4,000. The only thing that will tip the balance is if the board have a big name lined up to come in at the end of the season. A Wise or a Hoddle type manager that will get people interested again.

I totally agree, assuming we go down we really need something to excite the fans to get them to part iwth hard-earned cash. Offering Hart a contract simply will not do - or Trollope for that matter!Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: slinky on Wednesday, April 6, 2011, 22:24:01 I've just got my first ever season ticket after following the town for 20 odd years. I must be mad . Ince has just left Notts is that a big enough manager or should we stay away?
Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: pauld on Thursday, April 7, 2011, 08:47:44 Ince needs to do his time somewhere at League 1/2. As in 2-3 years with a promotion in there and solidly establishing whoever in the division above and looking to push on. Then he could progress to a decent Championship side and progress that way, rather than trying to fast track into the Prem like he did with Blackburn and getting found out as being totally out of his depth. Not to say he won't one day be able to take a Prem side, but he certainly wasn't ready then.
Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: blah blah on Thursday, April 14, 2011, 11:56:31 I've just had a call from the ticket office, wanting feedback as to why I didn't renew. This is the first direct communication I have had from the club regarding renewing. Maybe if they really wanted me to renew, they should have contacted me before the deadline ?
Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: flammableBen on Thursday, April 14, 2011, 11:57:34 I haven't heard from the club in years blah blah. Pretty normal stuff I think.
Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: Paolo69 on Thursday, April 14, 2011, 13:04:20 I've just had a call from the ticket office, wanting feedback as to why I didn't renew. This is the first direct communication I have had from the club regarding renewing. Maybe if they really wanted me to renew, they should have contacted me before the deadline ? Probably a fair comment, but traditionally (and this probably goes for most clubs) i doubt they would ever have contacted you at all. Anyone who wasn't aware of the deadline must have had their head in the sand the last 2 months and i'm sure you have your reasons for not renewing. Lack of contact from the club is unlikely to be one of these reason though. Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: Benzel on Thursday, April 14, 2011, 14:38:08 I didn't get a letter, email or phone call asking me about renewal. But you know what? I went ahead and did it anyway.
Moaning about not being asked to renew? Pahaha. Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: BANGKOK RED on Thursday, April 14, 2011, 15:15:50 The alternative would have been:

Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: BANGKOK RED on Thursday, April 14, 2011, 15:29:33 No mate, nothing.
The fuckers. Title: Re: ST Renewals Post by: pauld on Thursday, April 14, 2011, 19:46:35 Andrew Fitton came round to my house, cut my grass and serenaded me while feeding me grapes to persuade me to renew. Did you not all get that?
