I posted this on another thread earlier but this was the feedback from my mate who is a Celtic fan -

We signed him a couple of years ago and at the time it was a big deal as he was genuinely considered one of the best talents in europe.......but he hasnt lived up to his potential as much as we hoped, played a couple of times for the first team last season but was never going to break into the team so its a good move for him and the Robins I would say........he could be a good player for you if he wants to be......up to him really!

I know this sounds a bit daft, but don't we have a lot of centrebacks all of a sudden? Frampton, Cuthbert, Flint, Lecsinel, Misun, Evans...does this mean Flint is going back to Alfreton on loan? Lescinel is off to Swansea? Evans off at the end of the year?

Frampton is good but injury prone. Cuthbert is totally out of form, lecs is lecs.. all of a sudden the options lessen IMO.

your right it sounded daft.

We have 1 centre back (Cuthbert), 1 injury worry (Frampton), 1 hothead soon to leave (Lecs), 2 promising youngsters likely not to play (Flint & Misun) and 1 no-hoper who will be off loaded in the summer (Evans).

All in all I would be happy if Wilson signed another older centre back, let Flint back out on loan and then take good money for Lecs if it's offered.

Oh...and sign some bloody strikers Wilson!!!!

Post by: NorwayRed on Friday, January 28, 2011, 19:24:48
Browsing through some Celtic forums I found that most fans there were gutted to see Milan Misun leave. He only played pre-season games for them, but the ones that saw him said he looked very solid and good. They thought it was a shame that he hadn't been tested in the SPL, and now he's OURS!

Great play, Swindon! I have a good gut feelin' about this deal, actually!

(Although he spent the whole of last season on the sideline with ligament injury)

What Celtic-fans have said about Milan Misun on a Celtic forum after pre-season 2010:

"After watching him yesterday i think he should play Centre Half rather than Left back he looked amazing, Pace, Strength, Determination, good in the Air and has good positioning i think. whats everones opinions"

"he defenitly caught my eye yesterday , he was MOTM on celtics official website "

"Thought he was superb last night. He's got some amount of pace for a big man, something we've not had a CB for a while. For me the pecking order has changed coz Misun, Rogne and Hooiveld have overtaken the first picks from last year"

"Great game last night, really looking forward to seeing him break through this year."

"when he joined he played about 9/10 games in the reserves, all at centre back and he was impressive, then played left back in australia and got injured for a year, he returned against phillie at left back and didnt do so well, and then yesterday he returned to centre back and was great"

I HAVE A GREAT FEELING ABOUT THIS GUY!

Without seeing it written in Czech (with the accents) I can't be sure, but the Mee bit is right, as is it in Meelan.

Edit: The surname is pronounced Meeshuun.  There is an accent over the 's' giving it the 'sh' sound and one over the 'u' giving it a slightly elongated 'u'. (If Wikipedia has the accents right).

According to the link the Celtic fans rated him in the main & many seem surprised & upset that he's gone. Only played 2 games for Dundee on loan because they went into Administration and a few pre-season games for Celtic so maybe wanted to be playing first team football.  I like the bit about A C Milan & Copenhagen wanting him prior to his Celtic move - could be a useful acquisition.

Yeah we got him from a club in the Czech Republic, AC Milan were meant to be after him too.

I'm gutted he's gone, he was probably our best defender in pre-season last summer (and we played some tough teams, Man United, Sporting Lisbon etc) and was told he was 3rd choice centre-back.

His injury combined with another young CB doing brilliantly for us means he can't get a look in, which is a shame because he's probably one of the best centre backs I've seen come through the system.

All the best, hope he does well for you.

To be honest I've not seen Kelvin Wilson at all, have heard some pretty good things though. As for Commons I'm happy with the signing but we've got midfielders coming out of our ears and only 1 fit recognised centre back (as Wilson's only on a pre contract).

but wouldnt get in many english prem teams, this is why the scottish prem is on par with the championship in my IMO but they dont seem to think that .

even though celtic and rangers reputation would be higher if they was in the english premiership and then would able to attract better players

Yeah thats got to be pretty much his season finished now.  Cant see him being picked instead of Vela or Odemwingie, but unfortunately now too highly rated to have any chance of a loan back down to league 1.  Wouldn't be surprised to see him ask for a loan to the championship though if he stops being picked for the bench.

To clarify a couple of things, he is a left-sided centre back, he hasn't played left back for a couple of seasons now.

And it's pronounced Milan (like the city) Missoon.

To play devil's advocate here...LJF - not really good enough (and might be off), Cuthbert - Fine, Flint - young, stpeeing up too many levels, Mišůn - young, untried, Frampton - not ours and a crock.  I don't think we have enough CBs!

Christ, someone on that Celtic forum was asking if they got £500k for him.

They may all go the way of Ifil and O'Hanlon, but we have 3/4 young defenders now that could go on to be real gems.  Hope Frampton stays fit to ensure the older head is in there.  He's impressed me when he has played.

Now to sort the front line and I wouldn't mind a JPM replacement.

The TV presenter Dominic Diamond is very famous for supporting both Celtic and Poxford so the story checks out that some people are sad enough to support both clubs!

Weve got too many centre backs now. All of them are extremely promising.

I think this is another board signing (young player, increasing in value). They cant all play. Very strange, when we are crying out for forwards that we would pay money for another centre back.

I suppose that will happen in the summer anyway and the board may have adopted the 'get em while you can' approach.

I dont really want to see Cuthbert or Lescinel leave. I think Cuthbert has been consistantly underrated by the football world. He is a top young defender and is worth over £500k but there has been no rumblings of a bid like that. How could the Sweaties call up Caddis who isnt even our best right back at a L1 club, and not Cuthbert? Bonkers.

Lescinel could go either way, but is worth perservering with.

Youve got to keep the squad fairly lean. Competition yes, but 4 centre backs is too many.

Flint, Misun, Cuthbert, Frampton and LJF. That's 5, assuming Flint can push for a place straight away.

i thought 4 centre backs was the norm for most teams? decent amount of cover i think. considering we havn't seen flint or misun play yet i think we should reserve judgement on our starting cbs and about who, if anyone, will leave. for all we know misun could be miles better than ljf and maybe even cuthbert and so be pushing for a starting spot. we definitely have to keep frampton in though for the experience, playing 2 young cbs hasnt worked for us this season

What worries me more is the fact he's out of contract in the summer and we've heard nothing about him signing a new deal.

I've got no problem with the amount of centre backs we have, just the balance and range of centre backs arent there. If you include Will Evans we have have 5 under the age of 24  - thus only one, senior defender.

Which has been a problem and Frampton hasnt exactly been reliable with injuries unfortunately. If he does get injured again then we're in trouble even if we have another 5 centre backs who could play instead.

The lack of experience this season has been key. The amount of times yesterday the guy reporting on the watford v Brighton match was praising how organised the Brighton defence, Marshalled by Greer was pretty frustrating to hear.

Based on this season's performances I'd take £500k for Cuthbert. Based on last season's performances I'd have laughed at £500k. As well as JPM he has been the most disappointing player this season. He's another player that needs a good coach - he's got one hell of a lot of talent but gone backwards this season.

Same old with JPM, Wilson stupidly messed up his game by playing the best goal providing winger in the league last season in the middle. Exactly the same fuck up Malpas did.

Least Wilson has had him back in his proper position last 3 months.

JPM has also had to put up with Caddis being a complete lazy fucker off the ball, never drawing defenders away from him. With Amankwaah marauding up and down the wing again, we could see the return of the goal assist king, JPM.

We should just all vote for Misun anyway as a "write-in" candidate like in US elections. Even if they ignore it, if they get 100 votes for the eventual winner and 200 for Misun, that'd send a pretty strong message in itself.

Yes....October.....They did say it was a serious knee injury picked up in his first training session. That or we didn't kick the tyres hard enough on transfer deadline day.

By all accounts he's a quality player just been unlucky with all of his injuries. A Celtic mate of mine said he was close to being in the first 11 at the start of the season before he got injured, they then went on to sign Daniel Majstorovic.

I was told after his last injury in the close season 2010, he went further down the pecking order at Celtic and they decided to release him. They rated him high though. AC Milan we're interested in signing him 3 years ago I think.

He has to get back to full fitness and then we'll see what he's capable of.

I assume the club will be reclaiming his wages through their players insurance policy so we may as well keep him and see how he goes when he's recovered.

Do you think we can do that if he was injured when we signed him?

I assume he passsed a medical so that would normally automatically include him on the policy. The club said he got injured during the first training session which, if true, should mean we can get his wages back, or at least a set percentage of them.

Ahh, I just presumed he was injured when we signed him. Fair enough.

"Swindon Town
On 28 January 2011 Mišůn apparently joined League One side Swindon Town for an undisclosed fee - however, it was later revealed he had not officially signed a contract."

What does that even mean  ???

I'm sure the Town End's jovial and original chant machine will be working over time if/when he plays at the CG. Or we might just get "Who the fucking hell are you?"...

Something seriously suspect about Wilson and Misun.... would love to know the agent's involvement.
