Title: Dagenham and Redbridge
Post by: shady on Saturday, January 22, 2011, 19:12:43
Today they had an attendance of 4,446 (their previous home game yielded a crowd of 1,948).

They charged just 99p for adults today and 25p for kids. Also, there was no segregation to separate home and away fans.

Interesting plan - will be interesting to see if other clubs follow and, I guess far more importantly for Dagenham, whether attendances will be higher going forward as a result.

Non-Segregation is the sort of thing you can do when a multi-supporting fanbase like Franchise come to town.

Segregation is awesome. It fosters an us and them attitude and encourages singing. I've been to rugby games and I think the lack of segregation is to blame for the lack of atmosphere.

Spot on. Wouldn't have worked if they did it for their home game against Charlton, for example.

According to the football league review which I just watched there were missiles thrown at the Franchise fans after their last minute winner.

There was some very dumb sounding kid on 606 who came on and said "yeah man it was mental there woz 50ps flying everywhere and everytin' " about that game. Darren Fletcher wasn't terribly amused.

I hope they were plastic imitations of real missiles
