Title: Barnsley away? 15 quid a seat Post by: Anonymous on Sunday, June 26, 2005, 13:43:55 Hello as you maybe aware SAS travel is highly likely to be run by someone else next year which will proberley spell the end for the cheap-ish sort of service that SAS have been able to provide and should the club take over itself it would be a safe bet to say that the prices will rise even higher.
So i with the help of a close friend have been in touch with a local coach company about setting up a coach for Barnsley for a trial so to speak to see how well a possible coach to each game could work. So we decided to "hire" a coach for Barnsley away, our first game of the season at 15 pound a seat. Thanks for the replies so far i had a bit of business but if you could pass it on to anyone who may be intrested i'd be delighted to know as these internet forums are there is to really "advertise" on at the moment. I just think it's better if the coach service was kept running by the fans and not took over by the club.

Its illegal to even take alcohol onto a football coach. But then you read the rules on football and alcohol and there really isnt much that is actually legal. You need a Swindon badge on that otherwise everyone thinks its southampton. It wouldnt last 5 seconds in a ground. I have enough trouble getting my SwindonLoyal flag in the ground because its 'political'. Pathetic. They seem to get to most places fine, only harassed by police, never nicked.

Often 15 unnofficial coaches at away games. They get harrassed because their very presence in an alien town is going to cause problems (40 lads in casual gear for every coach and they get there early drink a lot and get very mouthy), but in truth they are just old school football fans. Direct descendants from the mighty 70's Red Army, the first supporters to travel en masse away. Makes for awesome support in the ground. Sort of thing I want to do.
Only other set of supporters ive seen that well organised is Glasgow Rangers. Supporters clubs all across Scotland. Their away support is superb, it has to be said. They also have an unwritten rule to get as many people in the ground as they can, my pal did a 100% season last year including euro aways.
