however much a twat ferguson is, Rooney brought this all on himself clearly he had some personal issues before the hookers etc., hence probably his form at the world cup, slagging off the england fans at the WC, had a shit start to the season so blames the media and fans for getting on his back about hookers etc. Its his own fault. No one to blame but himself. Silly Boy who i always considered to be incredibly over-rated!

Rooney is the last sellable 'superstar' at Man Yoo, so he'll be used to pay off another years interest for the Glazers. Saying that I wonder, knowing Rooney's agents reputation, that I wouldn't be surprised that he's been tapped up by City, and he's using the off field problems as a reason to go.

Saying that I've also heard that Disney are after him to play the live action version of Shrek.

Spot on, Rooney probably blamed his team mates at Man Ure for the partying and tarts so he said to his mrs he would leave United as they are the reason why he got into tarts etc. If he got away from them then he would be ok and faithful.

Im in Manchester today and the rumors are that the reason he's going is the wife unhappy with him having it on a plate in manchester.  Obviously they don't have prossers in spain, or at least its unlikely that Wayne will ever be able to work out how to get them what with their foreign speaking.  So he's going to Spain and Benzema coming the other way.

It must be true.  Bloke in Abdul's kebab shop told me.

Crouchy found one in Madrid in August with no problems.

Have you been drinking? Benzema makes Heskey look like a goal machine, that's the craziest statement I have heard in a long long time.

2006/2007 - 14 starts 7 goals
2007/2008 - 43 starts 27 goals
2008/2009 - 50 starts 27 goals
2009/2010 - 20 starts 12 goals
2010/2011 - 5 starts 3 goals
So in the past 4 years 132 starts and 75 goals, yes what a shit record, definitely like Heskey.

Benzema didn't score those in the EPL.

Heskey would have got treble that playing for the multiple league winners in a weak French league.

Judging by this interview from Ferguson in his own words Rooney has told them he won't sign a new contract and that finances havn't even been discussed with United so to call him greedy seems a bit wrong imo.

Fully agree. Lyon's budget's been higher than their French rivals for a number of years now, due to their Chumpions League money. They did win the title for 7 conscecutive seasons due to their domination.

I can't see Rooney going abroad because he is as think as shit. He's a Scouse cunt who can't even speak English - there is not a chance in hell of him picking up the lingo. Also on the pitch the foreign refs will have a field day with him not only for his late, shite tackling, but for the incessant gobbing off at the ref.
I don't think the prossies will be a problem abroad because with his wealth he can just build a retirement home and he'd have it on tap.

I wouldn't be too surprised if Rooney just sees out his contract (which runs till the end of next season) or (if the press are correct) buys out his contract next summer. He'd be stupid agreeing to a transfer in January - if he holds out the 6 or 18 months he'll be able to sign a deal with Man City or Real Madrid that will make him the highest paid player in the world by some distance. They could give him a £20m signing on bonus and £20m a season and it would still work out cheaper than buying him in January.

We don't know whether Rooney is a cunt or not, but everybody knows Fergusson is so I'm blaming him for it all.

Yeah Andy Webster went to the European Courts to argue that if you're in the final year of your contract you should be able to buy yourself out of it, if you give notice. You pay what your contract was worth for that one year.  Think it only applies if moving abroad.

Don't think Rooney can afford to be sat warming the bench till May tho. If he's going to go, he's got to go in January.

This is precisely why Citeh paid Toure £200k pw. Not because they think Toure's worth that (even Gary Cook's not that daft) but because it resets the benchmark for the top players and unsettles players across a whole bunch of clubs. Even if Rooney doesn't go across Manchester (and FWIW I agree that's unlikely), Utd are weakened by him being unsettled, never mind quitting. But mainly the Toure £200k sends a signal to every top player in Europe - it's like tapping up dozens of players simultaneously without having to lift a finger

Would Rooney actually be bothered by a few months bench warming? There is no summer tournament to prepare for and there is no chance of him getting dropped by England and little chance of Man Utd not playing him as they need him too much. I'm sure he'd prefer to be playing every week but with the potential pay out if he waits, maybe just till the end of the season, it could be enough to make it worth it.

Having said that I'm sure a compromise will be reached with him being sold at a cut price in January so everyone wins. I really hope it all goes south for Man Utd though and he goes on a free, that'll be their only high value player gone and will leave their accounts looking like a crock of shit. Maybe even enough to fuck Glazer over.

I'm not so sure he will play again unless there's a major thawing of relations.  We've seen it plenty of times before, Ferguson will just freeze someone out so I can see him rotting on the bench and calling upon Berbatov, Hernandez, Macheda etc to step up.

Wouldn't actually surprise me if they shipped him out on loan with a view to a permanent transfer, still not sure where he'd go though.  Madrid looks likely despite Mourinho's protestations.

Brilliant.

That is a corker, made me chuckle.

Despite his protests I don’t think old testicle head will be that sorry to the back of chubby Wayne.  He’s far from irreplaceable and I’d imagine they’ll recoup a healthy transfer fee from his sale.

He’s so far off the pace at the moment he’s a shadow of the player he was last season and although many will argue differently at 25 I think he has a couple of seasons left in him playing the type of football he does and unlike a Giggs he doesn't appear to have the intelligence to change his game as he matures and slows down.

Don't think he'll get a choice anyway. He's being given the choice now - sign or fuck off. If he's going Man Utd will want him out of the door in Jan when they can at least get some money for him. He can buy himself out of his contract in the summer for £5m (or thereabouts), no way they can afford to let him go for that little. Even if they get the £50m being bandied around today for him in Jan (which I doubt), most of that will disappear into the black hole of the Glazers' debt, like the Ronaldo money.

If he does get sent out on loan, like dp says, it should be to Hereford. Or Macclesfield, to make up for his brother being such a knob there

I just can't see Rooney going to somewhere like Real or Barca he would not fit into their team and I don't think his Mrs would be happy abroad away from her family, I like it that the rumours of him wanting to leave are downm the Utd lacking ambition - I reckon it is down to Alex not being happy with him and the prossies and has told him so with Rooney expecting to be supported, I'm sure he's unhappy with the press attention as well.

There's only really 4 teams that can afford him Chelski, Man City, Real & Barca....not so sure that would want to sell to an english club and can the other 2 really match his fee and wages he'd want, Real don;t have as much money as they used to

May have quite a bit to do with his agent's greed as his:

FWIW, I suspect it's a combination: greed (personal and agents); ambition - Utd are a side on the wane (no pun intended) in global and domestic terms thanks to the Glazers' leaching; and possibly a host of other more minor factors, like the missus wanting a move abroad etc etc

May have quite a bit to do with his agent's greed as his:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/oct/20/wayne-rooney-paul-stretford-sir-alex-ferguson

FWIW, I suspect it's a combination: greed (personal and agents); ambition - Utd are a side on the wane (no pun intended) in global and domestic terms thanks to the Glazers' leaching; and possibly a host of other more minor factors, like the missus wanting a move abroad etc etc

Don't think the agent has Orchastrated (sp?) this move. Thing it happen way before. But the agent is going to have a bumper pay packet...

Not sure it is for "ambition" I would not have thought that Rooney has the brains to look at it and say well the Glazers have saddled utd with all this debt there is no way we can keep affording top players so I will need to go somewhere else if I want to continue trying to win things.

It is probaby knowing that this may be his last chance for a huge pay day and it wil ltake quite a bit of money to build a new housing estate for all his prozzies so he can visit regular to collect 'rent'

He doesn't need to - all he needs to do is look round the dressing room, see who's left, who's come in, and who's going at the end of the season and draw the same conclusions as everyone else. United are falling behind, the only question is will they fall as far as Liverpool or Leeds did?

Well I don't see how you could get more honest and upfront than the FCUM lot. And any fee Utd get for Rooney will just go into the gaping pit that is the Glazer's debt hole. Which is why both fans and players are deserting.

and dave.rooney told the club on the 14th of august he wanted to leave.

Sorry, not the start of this season but he has said it before

Quote
“I have always said I would love to end my career at this club,” said Rooney. “If I can get anywhere near what Ryan has done it would be an amazing achievement because I regard him as the perfect role model. You must have great respect for the way his life is and the way he handles himself. The things he has done throughout his career and the things he has won are unbelievable. Everyone looks up to him and if I even get close to the number of games he has played I would be delighted.”

So, he cant be honest in both statements - plus lets be honest, why take his word as face value. He's always been a liar. Once a Blue, Always a Blue? remember that?

http://www.oleole.com/media/main/images/blogs/images/group1/subgrp151/52638.jpg

....that lasted long

He was a 16 year old boy for fucksake Dave and lets be honest here Everton didn't turn sown the 30m move did they. Alot has been made of this because it's very rare that players leave united. Ferguson doesn't show much loyalty to players who step out of line as his past shows so he shouldn't be so upset when it turns round and bites him on the ass.

How old he was doesnt matter.

He could have moved to Manchester United, not 'written' a book that slagged off Everton and their manager. He didnt have to celebrate United goals infront of the fans at Goodison. He didnt have to kiss the United badge.

I expect most Everton fans accepted that his talent meant he wouldnt be an Everton  player for very long - but there are ways to go about things.

He's going about them quite well now, stating ambitions are his reasons - which would be fine, if he didnt have a track record for being a liar.

I see it as Rooney using the Glazers as an excuse.  He knew about the lack of spending when Ronaldo and Tevez left and revelled in being the main man at the club last season.  He also went on to declare he wanted to stay at the club for life and become a legend like Scholes, Neville and Giggs.  He has lost his form since March, his private life has gone tits up and he has used the Glazers as a convenient excuse to get out of the club so he can save face with the fans.  It's a big gamble for him, if he leaves and United go on and have a succesful season and the team he joins does not it will be shown as a big mistake!

I really can’t see what club is going to pay the sort of fee united will demand for the gobby little potato head.  More so when he’s clearly lost pace and if he carries on eating burgers and tabbing the old B&H he’s got a season or two left playing his trademark bull in a china shop football.

Man City possibly more as a two fingered salute to their Manchester neighbours than a real desire to sign him.

Chelsea, I can’t see fat lad fitting in there at all.  Well I can with Terry and Cole but I can’t imagine they will want another headache like Rooney on their books plus old Roman is clearly tightening his coin purse when it comes to the transfer market.

Can’t see him ever going abroad.  Rooney in Milan, Madrid or Barcelona just doesn’t sit right.

Inevitably I think he’ll end up staying, see that his stock has dropped and sign a new deal.

He's surely been tapped up before issuing the "I want to quit" demands.

As always its a bit of a cliche, but the only people loyal in football are the fans. We all know that. But as not ginger Dave said, there are ways of conducting yourself and Rooney has made himself look a bit of a twat.

The thing is Man U are such dicks when it comes to selling players. They won't sell to Man City or Chelsea because they are both title rivals. That only really leaves Barca or Madrid. I can't see him going to Barca as they already have Villa and Messi so that leaves Real Madrid to link up with his old chum Ronaldo.

Even though this story mentions Charlie, I think the last line sums up Rooney and co.:

The Football League have a campaign running called Football To Be Proud Of.

This is encapsulated by Swindon's highly-rated striker Charlie Austin, who mucks in at the League One club to the extent he did a stint answering the phones in the office because administrative staff were busy.

Imagine a Premier League diva doing that.

It will be very interesting to see how much Man United have contracted to pay him.  Just where do you pitch the remuneration of a player whose form has been in question for the best part of 12 months and has been openly critical of his manager, his team mates and the club's owners?

I think it's highly unlikely that Ferguson himself will be there in 2015, so I'm wondering whether he's had his arm twisted by the owners or the board.

A nice big pay rise was on offer before all of this so your statement is a bit odd.  Something obviously changed somewhere in the process, read Fergies quotes from earlier in the week he said United and Gill were prepared to offer Wayne the best terms for any player in the country.  So for me finance hasn't come into it, something has been said to him to make him change his mind (i.e United will spend on big players) or he has been that shocked how everyone has reacted to him leaving and has decided against it.

Or he's leaving anyway and the five-year deal is just a notional thing to let the heat die down and ensure Utd get the best price possible for him (and that he gets to demand really sky-high wages wherever he goes "to match my current deal")

And trying to interpret what's really going on via the various things the key players have said publicly is idiotic - the only thing to really come out of all this is that anyone who believes any statement made on behalf of a player or a top-level football club about passion, ambition etc is a fucking idiot. Which is hardly news.

Same, it's all a big laugh really. Fuck Eastenders. The Premier League is the best soap on the box.

Heard commentators in Italy and Spain say on numerous occassions that the main reason the Premier League is so popular in other countries is that it's like a soap opera. Not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing, but I love it. Just a pity we don't still have Mourinho as I'd love to see him and Holloway go head to head.

:)
Had a text from a mate in the North West the other day, along the lines of:

Fergie's stated even if they lose Rooney, Utd will always be ahead of their rivals in blue from down the road - "We'll always be a bigger team than Oldham"

Rooney has yet again proved what a bigheaded twat he really is.  Utd should have called his bluff and let him go.  He's been absolutely shite or injured for the last 6 months anyway.  What an absolute farce.  I wonder what sort of reaction he'll get from the rest of the team and the crowd after some of the comments that he's made?
