Title: Norman Wisdom Post by: Matchworn Shirts on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 07:52:45 Dies aged 95, a good old age indeed. Seems to be a cult hero in Albania :)

Also did all his own stunt work as well, first time I saw him was when I was a young lad I remember the scene when the ambulance was hammering down the roads at Clewer near the riverbank (Windsor) with Norman Wisdom on top wrapped in bandages, it was brilliant and I watched the filming for most of the day. He was a great man, full of dignity and humour. RIP Norman Title: Re: Norman Wisdom Post by: Nick Bamosomi on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 08:29:38 RIP Norman
My Grandmother once won a competition where the prize was to dance with Norman Wisdom. Title: Re: Norman Wisdom Post by: Rustle on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 08:49:41 R.I.P Norman.
I think the most memorable was that film about the race horse for me. Keeping in tune with the forum tho. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyYzwukAvL0 Title: Re: Norman Wisdom Post by: Ardiles on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 09:14:57 One of the greats. RIP Norman.
Understandably, a lot of kids will not have heard much about him. But his routines are influencing comedy even today. Two examples I can think of:
Title: Re: Norman Wisdom Post by: suttonred on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 09:16:06 Lee Evans seems to be Norman Wisdom's reincarnation pretty much. Just more ginger.
And sweatier and far less funny. Title: Re: Norman Wisdom Post by: Ardiles on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 09:17:32 That too.

Title: Re: Norman Wisdom Post by: Reg Smeeton on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 17:29:00 One of the first films I went to on my own probably aged about 12 was a Norman Wisdom thing, can't remember owt about it. Very early 60's, then Norman's style of physical slapstick fell out of favour here, but not in Tirana.
Watched an old Wisdom film on a wet Friday afternoon a couple of years ago, set in 40's post war London....they haven't worn well. Title: Re: Norman Wisdom Post by: leefer on Tuesday, October 5, 2010, 20:21:44 OK then seeing as no one else has done it.........Mr Grimsdallllllllllle!

Title: Re: Norman Wisdom Post by: Highland Robin on Wednesday, October 6, 2010, 08:36:43 Who has ever seen the Queen laugh like that at an official occasion, when all he did was a little trip walking away from her. Totally predictable, and still totally funny.
