Title: Swindon v Huddersfield Official Matchday Tread.
Post by: herthab on Saturday, September 25, 2010, 04:44:15
Toughest home game so far this season. As usual, Huddersfield have spent big in the summer and have a very strong squad. As usual, their fans expect them to go up.

There were signs at Walsall that we are beginning to gell and we had passages of play that were as good, if not better, than last season. If Dossevi was a bit more composed in front of goal we could have run out with a more comprehensive score line.

Big Vinnie's confidence must be sky-high at the moment.

I don't think we are fully comfortable with the diamond system yet.  But we are getting there.

Therefore I think this game may have come a bit too soon. 0-1.

Tough one today, hope it's a good one.

I guess it depends on the formation we play. If we're narrow, then Udder's wingers will tear us apart. Also on how Big Vince plays in front of a home crowd.

I'm going for 2-2. Att 8,948

Have fun! Hope we win!

Whatever the result, it should be a good game of football.

I think we'll nick it, maybe 2-1.

I hope Dossevi bags himself a goal today, think he needs it just to get going.

Should be a good open game. Pilkington on the wing will need to be watched - very good player. I'm going for 2-2 with a few normal heart attacks thrown in as we're Swindon. A win against Plymouth would then set us up nicely for the trip to the Daggers. ............... oh and I hope that fucker with the drum doesn't turn up.

As long as we don't play the diamond formation today we stand a chance.

As far as i can see, Huddersfield have numerous good players but have yet to really "gel", but still managed to win impressively. The even played a centre mid at right back last week!

Should be a good game, with two sides both chasing their third successive wins.

That said, i'd take a draw.

Hope we win.....got a feeling we will today.
Udders have some good players.........................the first goal will be vital as they have the quality to play on the break if we need to go chasing.

I fancy us today. I don't think Udders' are all that at the back. Good players going forward but when they play away from home they can struggle. If we can stifle their play we have a good chance. People talk about them not firing on all cylindars yet but we haven't either. I think something has to give in this game. Either way i'm expecting a decent game of football.

Some crowd will turn up some will cheer some will boo, some footy will be played lots of people will get angry other will be happy.  The only thing I can be sure of is the referee will be an incompetent twat.

I hope we win.

I really have no idea.

anyone who suggests we'll play anything other than the diamond has lost the plot. We'll be narrow again, some people will moan and hurl abuse at the CMs for not getting wide and the FBs for not pusshing on but it will work, and we'll win 2-1.

I'm not ZonalMarking.com but conversly aren't our numbers in midfield going to put heavy pressure on their two, hampering their supply to the wide men? This would draw in the wingers and reduce their effectiveness, it would also allow McGoven to have real freedom between the lines.

Predicted 2-2, it has the look of a game with a few goals in it, they are good going forwards and will def cause us problems, equally they are not too clever at the back so fingers crossed we can make some decent chances ourselves.

Whatever the result, hoping to see continued improvement from us.

Swindon Town: David Lucas; Kevin Amankwaah, Scott Cuthbert, Sean Morrison, Alan Sheehan; David Prutton, Jonathan Douglas (capt.), Paul Caddis; Jon-Paul McGovern; Thomas Dossevi, Vincent Pericard
Substitutes: Phil Smith (GK), Michael Rose, Billy Bodin, Lecsinel Jean-Francois, Nathan Thompson, Will Evans, Alan O'Brien

Huddersfield Town: Alex Smithies; Lee Peltier, Peter Clarke (capt.), Jamie McCombe, Scott Arfield; Gary Roberts, Joey Gudjonsson, Damien Johnson, Graham Carey; Alan Lee, Jordan Rhodes
Substitutes: Ian Bennett (GK), Anthony Kay, Joe Garner, Anthony Pilkington, Lee Novak, Lee Croft, Liam Ridehalgh

Referee: S J Tanner

I agree a very weak looking bench, especially up front.

Pretty even first half, punctuated by very odd decisions from the ref.

Neither side has really looked like scoring, Town's best chance was the header by one on the Udders-feeled defenders.

Hopefully the defines can continue to look solid & we can nick a goal from somewhere

I am most chuffed with that result, unbeaten in 5 games, 4 clean sheets in that time and only 1 goal conceded in 5 games, very impressive, just need to score a few more! ;)

AFter the start to the season that is very good to see

Thorougly deserved victory and good performances all round. Think Sheehan's return has a lot to do with it and Morrison seems to be maturing at a rate of knots. Prutton seems to revel in the advanced role and if only Kev could improve the distribution we'd be a match for anyone as an attacking unit. Didn't really miss JP's width today.

Up the football league we go.

Brilliant - absolutely superb stuff. Moments like that make football all worth it. I thought Sheehans crossing had been awful all game but then he puts in a beauty of a cross. Well done Alan, he had a great game. Much like his ball in for Greers header against Norwich last season.

Huddersfield were very poor, we dominated from start to finish and they didn't have a clue what to do. Wasn't at all impressed with them.

Bring on Plymouth.

That was the best performance of the season thus far. We looked fantastic on the ball and the passing was brilliant at times. Huddersfield came with typical away tactics looking for a point and the only real threat from them was from set plays. Thankfully we dealt with everything they threw at us in that respect but make no mistake there was only one team that deserved the 3 points and that was us.

The 2 centre backs were rock solid. JD was back to his best, Prutton is improving every game, Pericard has the confidence he lacked earlier on in the season and causes problems, Dossevi looks class just needs that goal. Sheehan is 10 times better than Rose. Great stuff. It's really starting to come together now and we're getting back to how we were last season. Hungry for every ball, running our socks off, defending well, passing well. We're not creating as much but we are making up for that by playing better as a unit off the ball and defending a lot better. Huddersfield didn't even have a sniff today we were that good at the back. It's a tight league and if we can continue this run and get a biggy going like last season (that run of 10 wins from 12 games) we could fly up the league. Good times indeed.

Oh and I forgot Sean Morrison. Not just for the goal but for his whole performance. Outstanding and for me MOTM. Didn't put a foot wrong with anything and won every header, read the game well, did the right things when required. This lad is slowly making Greer look an average defender at this level.

Agree with this, loved it the way they were so hungry for the ball and first to it a lot of the time. Sheehan has been really good, vs Walsall and again today, good going forward and constantly gives Lucas option other than the big kick by coming short. We held on to possesion a lot because of that, and for large parts of the game it was all us with Huddersfield occasionally kicking it out or back up the field. So pleased we scored and as we completely deserved it.

Their only clear cut chance came really early on, which from where I was they should have easily scored, glad they didn't :D

The ref was an odd one.

I'm not sure what was wrong with our first goal apart from the fact Pericard jumped infront of the keeper? at least twice their player headed it wide and got a corner out of it.

The whole Huddersfield player down injured, they play on, we get the ball, play gets stopped was stupid and after all that the player got up 3 seconds later. Why even go down for fuck sake, cheating cunt. Wasnt the only one.

The player who went off injured, looked like an awesome tackle from Dougie in fairness.

Totally agree with IOB, an all round superb team performance.  We were the far superior team throughout and anything less than 3 points would have been an absolute travesty.  I have to admit, I didn't think the goal was ever going to come and a fair few round by me had already left when it did.  I can't ever understand people leaving early in a situation like that?

The celebrations after the goal and at the end by the team and supporters showed how much it meant and how deserved a win it was.  Good to see us really keep at it right to the last minute and get our reward.

Defence was outstanding and won literally everything.  Morrison or Sheehan would have been my MOMs, Sheehan makes a massive difference to the team and the midfield is playing as a unit now, although McGovern seemed to struggle at times.  Will be interesting to see what happens when Ferry returns?  At times we played some really good football and made Huddersfield look quite poor.

Top of the league -you're having a laugh!  On that showing, we're as good as anyone in that league and will be up there at the end of the season.

Bring on Tuesday night!  ;D

Having Ferry come in and take Pruttons place has really made Prutton buck up his ideas. Added to the fact he's playing a bit wider away from Douglas. He's been in a couple of decent performances now, also knowing full well Ferry will want back in.

Sheehan has been different class since he came back. Looks like the Sheehan we first go on loan last season. I think he dipped towards the end of last season after his injury but is looking the part again this season. Might as well ship Rose off to Stockport now.

The lack of options on the bench worried me today, no Austin and no Ball left us short up top but the starting 11 did a fantastic job.

Great performance best of the season by a mile. They had a clear cut chance but that was it really. The formation is working now and looks like it was worth persevering with.

Sheehan and morrison are a breath of fresh air for us and the big thing i will take from the last 2 games is that with Austin missing we have shown we are not a one man team.

Don't tend to have a pop about other teams on here but for fucksake i don't think i have seen a bunch of whinging cunts like that in a long time.

Oh and one last thing a little message to Hudds fans if you ironically cheer the ref 11 times in a match it's not really that ironic.

What a great game. Thoroughly engrossing

munch munch,

I don't think anyone has played badly, and Prutton and Perricard are really coming into form.

much munch,

The first half it looked like Huddersfield were maybe there for the taking. We contained them well and started to threaten at the other end

munch munch

The only minor criticism is we perhaps weren't as clinical in crossing and in front of the goal as we could have been.

munch munch.

Second half we were even better than in the first half, and a sublime piece of skill from Amankwha in beating two of their players really did paint an image of the the whole of the second half. We basically largely took the piss out of Huddersfield, out muscling them and out footballing them. But while we didn't score from open play, we certainly deserved to.

munch munch

The disallowed goal was never going to be given. There was contact with the keeper. I didn't even get out my chair to celebrate. Whether keepers are over protected is not the issue (they are), this is the world we live in.

munch munch, burp.  Thats the humble pie I just finished, I said Morrison wasn't good enough/ready/have enough experience. The season may be young be he has been exceptional in defence so far. The goal was the icing on the cake.

What a great team performance that was.....the defence today was the best i have seen in a long while.
Very, very hard to give a man of the match....i have always rated Morrison and if he does go his stock is rising very fast.
Amankwah gets my MOM for his defending in the first half.....didn't give Alan Lee a sniff and going forward second half he was brilliant though his final ball let him down at times.
Got to say against a very good Hudds team all the players came out of this match with massive credit.

Great ovation for Big Kev for him beating those two Udds players after being on the ground. Have to keep an eye out for that on Showboat next week.

When Lee was on the field they kept on playing lump ball, and we just dealt with the ariel ball. Sheehan was free every time out on the left as an outlet and he took advantage of it. Big Vince had his best game in a Town shirt. I wish they'll announce MoM after 90 mins instead of 80 !!

And one more thing...

Agree most of what Rich said. If that is the quality of opposition for top of the league then I am optimistic. Morrison, Pericard and Sheehan ran it close for MOTM today, but I think Vinnie shaded it, just! JP needs to find his form soon.

A couple of things, how can you wave play advantage when a player is down and play on for over a minute and then when Hudders lose possesion stop play because of that player, absolute joke! And fat boy Lee up front is a bit of a thug and nothing else really, plays with his elbows up everytime. Tried to rough it up with Dougie and ended up looking like a mug.

It was a shame about Roberts, he is a good player, but the tackle was a fair but strong one, even though Lee felt the need to run 30 yards to try a face off with Dougie.

On the whole, except for the odd 5 minute spell we totally dominated the game and totally deserved the goal as we were the only team trying to win the game. A boxing match would have ended at half time.

On to Plymuff, a repeat would be lovely!

Roberts dislocated his shoulder according to Anthony Marshall.

Agree with that probably being the best performance of the season. Was surprised that Huddersfield appeared to be playing a diamond too, or at least they were until Roberts went off.

Pericard ran his bollocks off again. Some dicks behind me moaned when he was awarded MOTM.

Morrision is a rock. He never lost a header (again - about 3 games in a row now), broke up play well a few times by stepping up and some of his diagonal balls to Sheehan were superb. Hope we don't sell him in January.

It's a very serious injury and he's in hospital as we speak. He's broken his arm badly in a high area and the specialists are looking at it - whether it needs surgery or just pinning we don't know at the minute, but he will be out for a period of time.

Superb performance today. The whippet worriers got exactly what they deserved - fuck all. MOM for me was Douglas - he was all over the place breaking up their play and getting ours going. I also thought Prutton was excellent - how many of their whinging fuckers did he leave dumped on their arses - most from dodgy challenges. Morrison and Cuthbert were first class. Pericard was also excellent. I may have to also eat a bit of humble pie over Sheehan. I'm not a fan but last week and this week he was very, very good both in attack and in defence.
Happy Days and looking forward to Tuesday.

i hope Clark is humble, for once

"I thought we started the game well and in the first fifteen minutes Jordan had a very good chance to put us one up - I think he probably had time to pull it onto his stronger right foot as well.

"After that they tweaked one or two games and started getting into the game, causing us one or two problems down our right side - without Alex having to make lots of saves. We tried to match up what they were trying to do, but it was a 'bitty' game. They had a lot of possession but there wasn't a lot in it and a goal from a set play sealed it - one of their lads out-jumping one of mine to get the goal."

Clark lost both Gary Roberts and Scott Arfield to injury by the start of the second half and Lee explained that the former has broken his arm:

"The two injuries were massively disruptive, because they have been two of the better players for me. Gary Roberts has been the best player on a consistent basis for the last four or five games and he was causing problems in the short spell he was on the pitch.

"It's a very serious injury and he's in hospital as we speak. He's broken his arm badly in a high area and the specialists are looking at it - whether it needs surgery or just pinning we don't know at the minute, but he will be out for a period of time.

"At half-time Scott told me he couldn't carry on because of the kick he took just before Gary's incident; that had made his calf too tight and he couldn't move around.

"To be fair to the ref he apologised at half-time. I said at the time that Gary wouldn't have got his injury if the ref had blown when Scott was fouled; there was no advantage on because one of their players was close enough to tackle our man and as soon as Scott got fouled he should have blown up. But full credit to the ref - he came out and apologised and I appreciate that. However, that doesn't mask over the fact that I've lost one of my best players for a period of time.

"With only 45 minutes gone we were forced into two substitutions and it leaves you unable to change personnel - it restricted what I could do later in the game.

"Gary will stay down here in hospital tonight, but Scott has a dead leg and we can get a bit of treatment into that."

Despite defender Sean Morrison scoring the winner for Swindon in the final minute of normal time, Jamie McCombe came very close to restoring parity before the end of the game:

"Jamie came close at the end, but I have just said to the lads that I get frustrated with football and that type of scenario. We went one down with a few minutes to go and then put pressure on the opposition, but why not do that when its 0-0 and we have 30 minutes to go?

"We didn't pass the ball at all well today, but all credit to the lads - they showed great grit, determination and desire to withstand what Swindon threw at them. They headed away all the balls into the box well and the goalkeeper took some magnificent crosses. I thought we had withstood it, but when you keep giving the ball back to the opposition there will be wave after wave."

Lee is now looking for his side to bounce back against Rochdale on Tuesday evening:

"There will be lots of twists and turns and we cannot be up and down; we can't be massively over the top when we're winning. It's a tough one because we love to give the supporters highs and to be top of the table is a great high, but every time I pick up the paper there is always reference to where we are in the table and we're only in September!

"Of course we're disappointed - losing a match is the worst feeling in football and that will never change. When that does, it will be time for me to pack up. However, we have a great chance on Tuesday in a bit of a local derby against a team that are doing well and we have to dust ourselves down and get a result at Rochdale."

Fantastic stuff, i really enjoyed that for the first time this season. Had serious doubts as to whether the diamond in midfield could really work for us but they have been put to bed now. Huddersfield just couldnt handle us getting in their faces, we were first to everything and wanted it more, which is great to see.

Not a bad player on the pitch for us, good performances all round but Douglas & Morrison were outstanding. Sheehan has made a huge difference and Pericard is doing what we know he can, being a total handful for defenders. It helps that we are playing the ball into his feet more. Dossevi is class, reminds me a little of Tevez the way he never stops running.

Onwards and Upwards!

However, we have a great chance on Tuesday in a bit of a local derby against a team that are doing well and we have to dust ourselves down and get a result at Rochdale."

....mmmmm,full of praise for the opposition as usual!

For the first time in a blue moon I was in the Legends pre-game. Was honoured when Mex and his dad (a convivial chap) sat at our table. I was too overawed to make much conversation, but basked in reflected glory. The day was completed by a cracking performance, and Amankwaah's second half skill spot will take some bettering.

When are we finally going to get this centre back in on loan ?  oh, hang on...

Second half we were fantastic, and thoroughly deserved to win.

I would have given Sheehan MOTM, but it could have been any of the back four as they were all immense.

That said it would be difficult to find a single one of them that had a poor game.

It's always great coming away from a game having scored a last minute winner :)

Erm, I though he just moved a couple of seats to the end of the row? He was quieter today if it was him. That's how well we played!

Yeah he was at the end of the row, if it is the same guy, he sat right behind my dad - who's pretty deaf but had no trouble hearing the endless advice being yelled. At one point we had a hatrick of 'idiots' - class. I heard some guys really taking the piss by shouting 'bad ball' every two mins.

I thought Douglas was MoM, he was a beast in the tackle and kept the ball moving by always playing the easy pass. Prutton looked more comfortable and made some good runs, Morrison was fantastic.

I loved one of the text's sent to the radio when I was driving home - "where have the Pericard boo boys gone now?" well, they're still there pal, except they're cheering, the bunch of fickle bastards that they are.....

One guy who sits further down from me hated Pericard with a passion, never stopped moaning about him, dishing out some really overly harsh shit. Today he was full of over the top praise, metaphorically tugging at his shorts for a chance to suck him off......

Think everyone's covered everything, but Cant say it enough we were superb, Dougie just MOM over Sheehan and Morrison. The only player who was slightly off his game was Caddis I thought. And what's with Manky's magic boots? What godawful colour were they? Oh and for a team of very tall and a couple of very lardy players, they didn't like it up em Capt Mainwaring.

Back to Caddis though, he wasnt great today, but he looked accomplished - but I think he'll be an integral player this year. As a right back he slotted in well in the midfield, got tackles in and made some good runs. A successful team needs players that look comfortable in many positions and he certainly was that - promising is how I'd sum him up.

Douglas was immense today, all over the place cleaning up - back to his form of last season, if not better.

How the fuck Huddersfield ended up top I don't know as they were awful. Don't think it was us making them look bad, they were just shit. But I think it's more a case of the division being wide open this season, I can't see anyone running away with it at the moment.

JPM is always just 'there', always involved.

This is the main difference between the Sturrock/Malpas JPM and the Wilson JPM -The Sturrock/Malpas JPM used to drift in and out of games, sometimes playing 90mins but yet remaining anonymous. The Wilson JPM is always mixing it, tackling, chasing, blocking.... he might not make a killer contribution week in week out but his workrate and effort is sometimes worth 5 extra men. Top class

I can't think of anyone who had a bad game, but some were better than others.
On the whole I think we controlled the game well and were well on top for the last 10 mins of the first half and all through the second, and can only think of 2 Huddrsfield chances - the one Lucas gave them in the first 5 mins with the bad throw out, and the great save he made right at the end.

Good game, great result.  Roll on Tuesday!

Completely disagree with most of what you said except for the bit about Dougie and this. You could throw the proverbial handkerchief over the top half of the table and as an indication of quite how wide open it is, a couple of weeks ago we were bottom of the table and the Wendies were top. We're now mid-table and rising, with the Wendies in 14th, two points below us.

Top performance from everyone today.

Morrison is very steady at the back and took his goal well. The thread about 30-odd resons why he's better than Gordon Queer is relevant. New contract time.

Prutton is now knuckling down. I can see why Colchester didn't want him to fuck off now.

Dossevi and Vinnie are doing a lot better, but need to sniff out more chances for themselves. Both are senior pro's, but all their hard work and endevour means fuck all if they cant spot a winking chuff in the dark.

Early days and all that, but we've moved our performances up a notch or three.

Maybe a somewhat blinkered retrospect after a bottle of wine but here goes:

Morrison was incredible: strong, unflappable, some great passes and thoroughly deserved to score.

The rest of the defense did a decent job defensively. The clean sheet says it all.

I thought Sheehan's crossing was consistent. Bit of a shame none of our players realised he was putting it into the same area each time, else we would be raving about his delivery instead of perhaps criticising it a little.

Amankwaah started slowly and played better as the game wore on, he looks like he is struggling a bit at times. Caddis had decent patches but needs to be more consistent. I'd like to see more deliveries coming from that side.

Prutton, McGovern and Douglas put in very committed performances and really ran the show. They were tireless, won the ball and spread the play when needed. Wilson summed it up when he said we have no room to carry players. These players typified our performance and the best aspect of our team (our endeavor).

I thought the middle was very congested making it difficult for the strikers, though both of them did a great job, Pericard used his physical presence to great effect, whilst Dossevi was decent at holding up the ball but showed some really class touches.

Overall a committed, gritty and often exciting performance. I also high-fived Kinky Tom when we scored which was slightly gay.

Caddis lacks pace so every time he had an oppurtunity and tried to break free it came to nothing.
He is more of a passing type player....so really like Prutton and Douglas!
For all the good things about our midfield(and they are good)we really dont score enough goals from midfield.

Sean was unbeatable. Whenever the ball was going in his direction you just knew there was nothing to worry about. Him and Scotty are getting quite the partnership together and as much as I love LJF I can't see it changing any time soon. Fair play to Wilson who stuck to his guns, it seems to be paying off.
The midfield was solid and Prutton had his best game, I guess I reacted too quickly, but he's proving my early impressions wrong and perhaps we're starting to see the Prutton that Leeds fans came to know and love. I also think Dossevi had his best game, his skills and awareness of his surroundings are breathtaking at times. Would love to see Manks' silky skill again, anything that gets the whole Arkells on it's feet has gotta be a bit special. Fair play to him too, if he's carrying this dodgy ankle that needs working on.

Not a bad peformance in the side and if I could be bothered to score everyone, there'd be no lower mark than a 7.

It's a bit rough on LJF as he didn't do anything wrong in the games he played and was probably the best CB in them. Think he kind of took the fall for the defensive failings when the only problem was Rose. I'd still like to see LJF and Morrison play together at some point as LJF has the best passing / bringing the ball out of defence of the three, but obviously it ain't going to happen anytime soon.

Sheehan was arguably the difference between the two teams. His support, control, passing, crossing, and work rate up and down the wing was exceptional, and a revelation to me. Like a poor man's Ashley Cole. That bit of width made up for our lack of wingers.
Nobody had a poor game, but Morrison was immense, and besides winning every header he took good options in other ways and made no obvious mistakes.

Caddis played like a right winger playing in central midfield. He made some good runs at times and I dont think he lacks pace at all.

He did look like a player, playing slightly out of position. Only seen him twice but from what I have seen he is definitely a right winger. A touchline hugger winger, certainly more so than JPM who for the most part can make the transition from RW to CM fairly seamlessly.

OK a bit of research reveals that the froghopper, just edges out the flea, on vertical height gained from a standing jump....so how about Morrison leapt majestically like a froghopper  :)

Now if we could get Caddis doing something similar then we could have all sorts of hexapod fun.

You have to wonder what some of the Huddersfield supporters and their tosser of a manager were seeing if they genuinely believe we weren't that good and they should have got something out of the game.  No we played well, you played shite and deserved nothing end of!  They only took a point off us last season, so why the big surprise that we beat them yesterday?

It pisses me off when opposition can't give credit when it's deserved, at least we as supporters and our manager seem able to admit when Swindon have been shite and the other team are better.  It makes the victory even sweeter when they think they've got a divine right to beat us.

Douglas really looks like the sort of person who is going to be scared of going up to Huddersfield in March. In fact, they all do ::)

Problem is that he should also be the target for those long throws. We all dream of a team of Sean Morrisons might be a bit extreme, but two would help!

Just watched those. Didn't even realise the clearance off the line came from a Dossevi overhead kick. He showed some really skillful touches actually.

Benny, have a look at the highlights on the BBC website.  Only 2 minutes but 10 times better that those on the football league show.

Apparently we are a long ball team from where I was sat we out passed them time and time again.

"JOEY GUDJONSSON was frustrated to leave Wiltshire empty-handed after Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at Swindon Town.

The midfielder believed the Terriers had done more than enough to earn at least a share of the points at the County Ground, before Swindon centre-back Sean Morrison headed home in the final minute to steal all three.

Icelandic playmaker Gudjonsson said Town’s defensive line, and Peter Clarke and Jamie McCombe in particular, kept the hosts’ attacking threat subdued for most of the 90 minutes.

And he therefore felt aggrieved to have conceded right at the death.

"They didn’t create that many chances, they kept launching long balls at us and kept us under pressure like that, but I think we at least deserved a draw out of the game," he said.

"We could have equalised in the end, but it’s a tough place to come to and they have a decent team but maybe a draw would have been a fair result.

"They caused us a few problems but they didn’t open us up that much. (Clarke and McCombe) handled it quite well.

"They didn’t play through us that much, it was more long balls and we dealt with it most of the way through the game. It was just that one header when the board came up with two minutes to go and they managed to squeeze one in and it was really harsh on us."

I find it incredible that 13 shots is classed as not creating many chances.

Sounds like the players and supporters alike believe they have a god given right to get promotion, they seem to have become this seasons Leeds only with much more bitterness built up from many years living in the shadow of other nearby teams.

It does all seem to stem largely from Lee Clark though who just seems incapable of gracefully accepting defeat and generally comes accross as a bit of a plank. I would imagine he's done for if they don't go up this season which judging by Saturday is a distinct possibility.
