I kind of to care to the extent....that people use it as a stick to beat the club, in "How come we didn't sign Ashton" sort of way.....which isn't fair as he was never one of ours. Ben Thatcher, the club were fullly aware of and he may have been on our books as a kid, but Hoddle didn't like him because he thought he was a bit too physical and not enough football. So we missed a player (whether we did or not), these things happen, accept it, try and learn from it and move on. Even the biggest clubs in the world miss the occasional quality player. but of course bigger clubs have much more money to invest in youth so they are always likely to produce more.
