Title: More on Ball...
Post by: DiscoDazR on Friday, July 9, 2010, 10:29:33
Hot off the press;

"Swindon Town's chances of securing Manchester City Striker David Ball on a season long loan significantly increased this morning with the news that City have bid £45m for attacker Raoul Moat. City boss Roberto Mancini admitted "We don't know a great deal about him but everyone's chasing him!"

I heard he can be lethal but has a tendency to go missing.

Edit: Mex beat me to it by a matter of seconds!

I know it's a bit "friend of a friend" like,  but this is a response from a keen Man City fan that I work with.  Take it with as much salt as you like, but it sounds ok to me.

The 'mole' in question is a fanatic who watches all youth and reserve teams, so should have a good grounding - if I get anything further I'll post it up

***********************************************************************
I've asked my "mole" to provide me with a scouting report. Based on what I know about him, he's a good prospect and very nearly made his 1st team debut last season. Mancini gave 3 academy players a debut (Cunningham, Boyata and Ibrahim) and Ball was next in line apparently. He scored a goal in last years FA Youth Cup Final when City beat Chelsea and has bagged a pile of goals at both youth and reserve team level - I hope he does the same for Swindon!

By the way - he's a Manchester lad, and knowing how hostile you lot are towards us northerners it remains to be seen how he'll settle in.

 If my mate comes up with any more info on David Ball, or any of the other potential "loanees" I'll let you know.

What the difference between Moat and Ashley Cole? Moat still gets to hang around a Geordie bush.

Or it could just have been the fact that work colleagues occasionally wind each other up - nice to see you picked out the important bit though.

In fact pretty much everyone in Swindon has come from somewhere else in the past fifty or so years.  We just hate everyone which is our god given right!

Oh. So it was a joke. Please forgive my stupidity for not picking up on that.

I'll edit out that sort of stuff in future, just to save any grief - the TEF seems to be in a fragile emotional state just now

The trend's probably not true of the last decade or so. Lots of young single mothers in Swindon.
