It's comic genius (first series aside...it hadn't really hit its stride by that point). Title: Re: Blackadder Post by: jimmy_onions on Tuesday, July 6, 2010, 08:08:38 Classic That scene with flashheart from BA II was alledgedly mostly ad libbed...the other cast didnt know what he was going to do. I agree, one of the best comedy series ever and flashheart, one the of best cameo parts ever. Title: Re: Blackadder Post by: One F In Fitton on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, 15:19:02 Brilliant.
"Baldrick - go and buy a turkey that is so large, you'd think that its mother had been rogered by an omnibus." Title: Re: Blackadder Post by: Highland Robin on Wednesday, July 7, 2010, 15:28:30 Just bought the complete set from Lovefilm at cutprice! It IS the best, and the last episode was tragi-comedy of absolute brilliance.

He reminds me of the other Character Chris Barrie played in Red Dwarf. I forget his name but recall him saying, "Smoke me a kipper, skipper. I'll be back for breakfast." Title: Re: Blackadder Post by: Batch on Thursday, July 8, 2010, 18:36:09 Didn't Ace Rimmer nickname someone Skippy? ??? Skipper. "Ace and Skipper?' You sound like a kids' TV series about a boy and his bush kangaroo!" Title: Re: Blackadder Post by: 4D on Thursday, July 8, 2010, 22:18:42 Ah, that's right...."smoke me a kipper skipper, I'll be back for breakfast"
Title: Re: Blackadder Post by: Super Jan fjortoft on Friday, July 9, 2010, 12:37:11 genius.
"Mind if I use your phone? If word gets out I'm missing, five hundred girls will kill themselves. And I wouldn't want them on my conscience, not when they ought to be on my *face*! Hello? Cancel the state funeral, tell the king to stop blubbing, Flash is not dead! I simply ran out of juice! And before five hundred girls all go 'oh, what's the point in living any more?' I'm talking about petrol! Woof! Send someone along to pick me up. General Melchett's driver will do, she hangs round with a big knob so she'll be used to a fellow like me. Woof! " :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick: :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick: Title: Re: Blackadder Post by: adje on Friday, July 9, 2010, 18:31:28 Talking of "comedy"-I cant believe they've brought back the truly dire "My Family" for yet another turgid series.
Title: Re: Blackadder Post by: Batch on Friday, July 9, 2010, 18:49:04 Safe family viewing. Though I'm not sure I know anyone who actually watched My Family.
Glad to see they are finally pensioning off Last of the Summer Wine. That has been broadcasting since the year of my birth (1973), which deserves some credit! But lets be honest, its only watched by the very old and under 10's. And half the cast are dead. I am a dozy bugger. It took me until a few years ago to realise that Foggy was played by the same person who played Barrowclough in Porridge (Brian Wilde)! Title: Re: Blackadder Post by: Barry Scott on Friday, July 9, 2010, 19:26:42 Talking of "comedy"-I cant believe they've brought back the truly dire "My Family" for yet another turgid series. I liked the early series' because the I had a thing for the ex-Eastenders bird and found the BT advert and Love Actually bloke really good. I haven't watched it in what must me 5 years or something in my defence. Title: Re: Blackadder Post by: Samdy Gray on Friday, July 9, 2010, 21:40:01 Luci watches it.
Title: Re: Blackadder Post by: reeves4england on Friday, July 9, 2010, 22:10:36 My Family was alright in the early days, with Nick as the best character. When it all changed it lost its appeal.
Title: Re: Blackadder Post by: flammableBen on Saturday, July 10, 2010, 05:37:34 My Family has never been 'alright'. It's always been the sort lowest denominator comedy that the beeb think they've got to push out for family viewing for some reason. Family viewing doesn't have to mean shit, as Doctor Who has shown.
