when that millwall player was down injured for ages in the second half. it was dead silent and then this piercing shout of "give 'im a plaster!" came from a young kid sat a couple of rows behind us. that coca-cola blimp thing with the massive town badge on would look great on the stratton bank (obviously without the coca-cola branding). the build-up to the game was great. not the pre-match stadium bollocks but getting to the ground. lots of leg room. great seats courtesy of christy. i had a really good curry when i got home. Title: Re: positives of the day? Post by: jonny72 on Sunday, May 30, 2010, 11:34:23 I got to see Swindon play at Wembley. Nothing was ever going to detract from that.

The pub beforehand. Taking a mate's son to his first game at Wembley. Seeing the lads come out on to the pitch. The copper who tried to vault a fence at the tube, and ended up on his arse. And to finish off last night watching the BBC lge show and them showing my mini interview and my wife agreeing i didnt make a complete twat of myself(for once) Apart from the result i took alot of positives from yesterday. HAHA that was my little step bro. He was sat with my Dad, his Mrs and my bro. They told me about that when I met back up with them at the car. For me, seeing all the coaches, cars, mini buses, private coaches on the M4, that feeling that washed over me when the arch came into view. "Shit, this is real now" Singing in the green man, singing in the streets, singing in the concourse with my mates and random groups, all arms round eachother, absolutely buzzing. Also, my chicken and chips was alright, as was the beers in the ground (although £4 a pint is a bit steep!). Title: Re: positives of the day? Post by: Bumpkin on Sunday, May 30, 2010, 13:25:37 Eight cans of 1664, a cold Ginsters AND change from a tenner.

There was one chap in Eddies who had flown in from Belfast for the day and who I last saw at the London Reds beer nights about 6 or 7 years ago. There was about 8 of us, all individually who had never met on the 6.50am flight from Belfast! That was a highlight..as I had assumed for a fair few years that Im the sole Swindon fan from Belfast! Loads of people wanted pictures with my Ulster flag with Belfast Robin on it...that was defo a highlight, although my mates said i was crying on tv at the end.. but i think theyre bullshittin me cos i dont think i cried..mayb a tad teary eyed tho..heart went out for Charlie after seeing him and JFL was absolutely inconsolable.. The bouncer at the Bear was tiny! Really wanted to see him fight! But wasnt too keen on being the one who kicked off with him! And they say Gary Coleman is dead? Title: Re: positives of the day? Post by: Doore on Monday, May 31, 2010, 22:40:47 I've not read the thread because I'm lazy and tired. However, my personal positives for the day...
The excitement building up to it - its been years since I felt like that the night before the game The "special" element of the day - I got up at 3am and left at 4am - this made it feel special. I didn't get home until midnight either. Soppy shit - I had a great day out with my Dad, just me and him. Football club pride - sod the result, to see this club after everything we've been through over the past 17 years, to see us competing at Wembley made me so proud, I can't even describe it. Just enough to be really enjoying myself but not so much I needed a slash every 3 mins (re Colchester) or acted like a prick in any sort of way.
