Title: Re: Luther Post by: spacey on Thursday, May 20, 2010, 12:54:03 How you can discuss such trivial matters when we don't know the exact number of tickets we've sold?
I demand that this thread include a picture of the Wembley seating plan immediately! Title: Re: Luther Post by: Nick Bamosomi on Thursday, May 20, 2010, 13:35:52 Hadn't watched it at all and then it was recommended to me so I watched all three on Tuesday (2 on iplayer and 1 on TV).
That blood drinking bit was :puke: , but a very good series. Title: Re: Luther Post by: Simon Pieman on Thursday, May 20, 2010, 17:39:36 I wasn't interested until I read about the blood drinking. May have to watch it now.

Title: Re: Luther Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, 09:24:03 Whoopsee got carried away with BGT and Corrie and forgot about Luther! :(
Title: Re: Luther Post by: STFCBird on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, 11:17:14 It got a bit gruesome for me, I had to have a bit of ant and dec half way through
Title: Re: Luther Post by: leefer on Wednesday, June 2, 2010, 14:12:55 Love it,dont watch alot of TV but this is good.
Title: Re: Luther Post by: Nick Bamosomi on Thursday, June 3, 2010, 12:56:33 After last week I thought it couldn't get any better - but it did.
Hope there will be another series Title: Re: Luther Post by: juddie on Thursday, June 3, 2010, 13:23:38 set up nicely for next week...
Title: Re: Luther Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Friday, June 4, 2010, 14:04:28 Phew Im caught up now!
watching that - then the news about the horrid gunman - before bed God thats the reciepe for some bad dreams! Title: Re: Luther Post by: juddie on Friday, June 4, 2010, 14:43:53 ha ha. I use to watch the pacific late at night, and went top bed with images of soldiers shooting people's heads and limbs off.
Title: Re: Luther Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 09:19:53 The ending annoyed me!!!
Title: Re: Luther Post by: THE FLASH on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 09:42:23 Very good but i am disappointed that the pyscho bird is going to get caught!
Title: Re: Luther Post by: Ginginho on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 09:42:23 Just started watching.
Watched the first 3 episodes and it's great. I love that ginger pyscho bird. Title: Re: Luther Post by: Nick Bamosomi on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 09:48:40 You have a real treat in store then, Ginginho - wish I still had more episodes to watch - can't believe it's over.
Don't want to give the game away to anyone who hasn't seen final episode yet, but watching it made me go NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! Title: Re: Luther Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 10:48:25 It annoyed me how that Mark guy suddenly went from hating Luther to helping him?? Feel like they glossed over it a bit??
But it was a bloody ace series!! Title: Re: Luther Post by: juddie on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 12:30:53 poor ending, very poor. same with 24/lost, what's wrong with these people, they just run out of ideas or what?
great series, shit end. Title: Re: Luther Post by: Jamiesfuturewife on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 12:36:55 The end of 24 wasn't too bad? I thought it was a bit slushy perhaps? My boyfriend says they are making a film??
Title: Re: Luther Post by: juddie on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 12:41:35 i thought it was terrible. very exciting episode, but shite ending.
Title: Re: Luther Post by: farmer61 on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 12:49:58 Great series, with it left wide open for a second series.
Yep there were holes in plot you could drive buses through, but an excellent, well made and exciting series, some real edge of the seat moments. I thought the ending was class.... "now what are we going to do" or something like that. Top stuff, well done the BBC for once!!! Title: Re: Luther Post by: juddie on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 12:53:30 i get the whole leaving it open for a second series, but come on, that was a cop out...
Title: Re: Luther Post by: farmer61 on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 12:55:55 i get the whole leaving it open for a second series, but come on, that was a cop out... Which bit? I thought it was ok, I understand that His wife's b/f did a 180 degree about turn in less than a minute, but that's what you get for a 1 hour program. Title: Re: Luther Post by: juddie on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 13:01:12 well, without spoiling it for those who haven't seen it yet (look away now)....
there needed to be a conclusion with the old bill. who was going to cop it? Title: Re: Luther Post by: Sussex on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 13:04:00 Think it was worthy of the whole series being spread over 12 episodes instead being a bit squashed into 6. Maybe they were worried it wouldn't be very popular or aunty beeb is a bit skint.
Title: Re: Luther Post by: farmer61 on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 13:09:21 there needed to be a conclusion with the old bill. who was going to cop it? There will be........series 2. I think sometimes leaving unanswered questions gives the imagination more to work on. I think enough was cleared up to end this series. My guess is none of them will.....we will see, possibly Title: Re: Luther Post by: Ardiles on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 13:09:58 I cannot stand open-ended, cop-out endings. Seems to be all the rage, but basically an excuse for script-writers to avoid having to write a proper one.
'What happens to Luther? You decide.' No. Fuck off. I've invested 6 hours of my valuable time watching this series, so the least you can do is provide a definitive ending. It was a bollocks ending. They'll be introducing this next at home games. 88 minutes on the clock, we're level at 2-2 vs Bristol City and Charlie's attacking the Stratton Bank. And then the players walk off. Result? You decide. Make up your own ending. It's all the rage. Like I said...bollocks. Title: Re: Luther Post by: jonny72 on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 13:10:56 Best episode of great series for me. Loved the way they've developed the relationship between Alice and Luther, him turning to her for help made sense and it all worked perfectly. Couldn't help but sort of feel she was a good guy come the end, though that doesn't seem right what with her killing four people.
As much as I love Idris Elba, I thought Ruth Wilson was the star of the show come the end - acted to perfection. Just hope the BBC hurry up and confirm a new series, be very surprised if they don't. Title: Re: Luther Post by: Ardiles on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 13:11:40 And just because it worked for The Italian Job, doesn't mean everyone else can do it.
Title: Re: Luther Post by: juddie on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 13:13:01 and the sopranos... I'm with you ardiles.
Title: Re: Luther Post by: jonny72 on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 13:17:57 Nothing wrong with the ending and it was the only way they could end it.
Luther never gets closure, he's always dealing with a disaster, he leaves a trail of destruction and he's always got something hanging over him. So if anything, tidying everything up and doing a happily ever after ending would have been out of place. Title: Re: Luther Post by: Abrahammer on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 19:17:56 There must be another series on the cards otherwise they wouldnt have left it as a bit of a cliffhanger surely.
Nothing can ever be as disappointing as the end of the Sopranos! Title: Re: Luther Post by: juddie on Wednesday, June 9, 2010, 23:04:37 sopranos ending was good!!!
Title: Re: Luther Post by: Phil_S on Thursday, June 10, 2010, 02:34:04 I enjoyed it. Whens the next series of the Tudors ?
Title: Re: Luther Post by: sonicyouth on Thursday, June 10, 2010, 15:17:20 i loved the ending.
luther stood over the body of dci reed who was murdered with a sawn off shotgun that had been fired by alice but had luther's prints on. remember alice saying that she would never betray him? who believes a sociopath? mark's u-turn was sudden but at least plausible. when mark had doubted luther previously, he'd been proved wrong - e.g. alice 'invading' their home. it's a shame they didn't have long enough to explore mark's decision. i drove home yesterday just to watch luther as i am sans tv and internet for a couple of weeks. it was worth it! Title: Re: Luther Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Thursday, June 10, 2010, 15:19:45 Yeah thanks for fucking ruining that.Just downloaded the whole lot
Title: Re: Luther Post by: sonicyouth on Thursday, June 10, 2010, 15:23:56 why read the thread if you've not watched it then?
p.s. bambi's mum dies Title: Re: Luther Post by: Don Rogers Shop on Thursday, June 10, 2010, 15:50:17 I clicked on it to see whether it was worth watching etc but wasn't logged in and your post was first one that came up.
Bambi's mum deserved everything she got. Title: Re: Luther Post by: Sussex on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, 18:15:08 Series 2 starts next Tuesday BBC1 9pm. Matt Baker told me.
Title: Re: Luther Post by: Power to people on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, 18:47:04 Yep they are doing 2 x 2 parters rather than a whole new series
Title: Re: Luther Post by: adje on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, 20:15:18 Bring it on.
Title: Re: Luther Post by: wiggy on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, 20:38:30 I will be watching this, the first series was great.
Title: Re: Luther Post by: Barry Scott on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, 21:36:30 Great series, I am excite.
Title: Re: Luther Post by: Nick Bamosomi on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, 21:39:19 There have been a lot of good crime things on the last few weeks - I loved the first series of this however, so am looking forward to next week.
Title: Re: Luther Post by: THE FLASH on Friday, June 10, 2011, 07:07:22 The Mousetrap....the Butler did it!
Title: Re: Luther Post by: Batch on Friday, June 10, 2011, 08:15:09 The Mousetrap....the Butler did it! That butlers no detective is he. Title: Re: Luther Post by: Abrahammer on Tuesday, June 14, 2011, 18:11:28 Just noticed this is back tonight, great stuff.
In Idris we trust Title: Re: Luther Post by: Abrahammer on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, 08:22:02 Regarding the young piece of kit getting pounded while unconscious.
Was she part of a storyline from the previous series? Title: Re: Luther Post by: LucienSanchez on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, 08:26:28 I don't remember her or her mum, no.
I still have a strange thing for Alice. Title: Re: Luther Post by: Abrahammer on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, 08:33:10 I don't remember her or her mum, no. I still have a strange thing for Alice. I didn’t either, thought my memory was shot to pieces. With you on Alice, you imagine she would be pure filth in the sack Title: Re: Luther Post by: LucienSanchez on Wednesday, June 15, 2011, 08:35:26 the mum is in The Shadow Line too at the moment, which might get confusing... they even re-used some locations from that series also
Title: Re: Luther Post by: Abrahammer on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, 17:12:07 The last 2 episodes have been bloody brilliant
Title: Re: Luther Post by: Sussex on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, 17:14:19 Agreed Mr Hammer. Bit darker than the first series and absolutely superb.
Title: Re: Luther Post by: adje on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, 17:59:14 Im generally loving it,but a slight criticism is that Luther seems to have developed super-human powers of deduction-I mean, from a grainy CCTV shot, how the hell did he know that weirdo was rolling a fucking dice?!
Title: Re: Luther Post by: LucienSanchez on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, 18:07:35 I questioned that too... but its such a great program i let it slide. That office scene was horrific/brilliant
Title: Re: Luther Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, 18:26:20 First time i've watched it properly. Quite enjoyed it.
Title: Re: Luther Post by: wiggy on Wednesday, June 29, 2011, 18:52:42 I am pretty sure that last nights episode was based on a true story. I seem to recall that in spain about 20 years ago, in either Madrid or Barcelona, some students decided to play an RPG called Magic the Gathering for real, and went on a killing spree, keeping scores.
Title: Re: Luther Post by: Sussex on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, 18:20:16 Last one tonight. Ooooooooooooh.
Title: Re: Luther Post by: Batch on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, 18:22:50 Yeah, shame its only 4 parts.
Its only thanks to this thread I gave it a go. Its good. I like the fact he's a bit dodgy (by necessity). Title: Re: Luther Post by: leefer on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, 18:24:39 I questioned that too... but its such a great program i let it slide. That office scene was horrific/brilliant Love this series, didn't like this scene. Title: Re: Luther Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, 18:41:36 Forgot this was on. Should fill a hole in my evening.
Title: Re: Luther Post by: Nick Bamosomi on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, 18:43:23 I've been told that this is the last episode EVER tonight.
Is this true, or is it just the end of the series? Gutted if it is the former - excellent viewing. Title: Re: Luther Post by: thedarkprince on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, 18:51:05 Have never watched an episode, is it really worth revisiting both series?
Title: Re: Luther Post by: Amir on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, 18:56:57 I've been told that this is the last episode EVER tonight. Is this true, or is it just the end of the series? Gutted if it is the former - excellent viewing. Most probably the last. Idris Elba said he wasn't sure whether to stop at the end of the first series(I assume he's worried about being recognised as a character, rather than an actor, after The Wire), so I doubt he'll want to carry on. Title: Re: Luther Post by: Sussex on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, 19:10:00 Would be a shame if he doesn't want to do any more, lot of scope for plenty more series from Luther without it getting stale. The character's just getting going.
Selfish bastard. Title: Re: Luther Post by: leefer on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, 20:58:40 Most excellent.
Title: Re: Luther Post by: Bennett on Tuesday, July 5, 2011, 22:05:16 i have thoroughly enjoyed luther
thanks for reading Title: Re: Luther Post by: Honky McCracker on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, 13:01:47 Only just got into it this series but agreed it is pretty special
Title: Re: Luther Post by: THE FLASH on Friday, July 8, 2011, 10:14:32 Excellent....Sky plussed because i have been away but watched it all last night..
