Title: PO Final from the US?
Post by: Luci on Tuesday, May 18, 2010, 11:40:26
Right - some of you have lived/worked in the US before, therefore is there any hope in hell of the game being televised on any channel in the US?

In the US for a wedding PO final weekend (booked a while back) so desperate to see the game.

Its that, or pray the volcano does me a HUGE favour and cancels the trip  :D

Unlikely Luci. The only channels that I know of that air 'soccer' are ESPN (Champions League only) and (don't get too excited) Fox Soccer. They normally only air Premiership games. It may have changed in the last two years.

I'll ask my mate in the US to check the Fox listings to see if there is any coverage planned for the 29th.

Can't you just contract some mystery ailment the stops you flying.

Try "Gottobeatwembleyitis",  I'm sure they will understand ;)

Shouldn't be a problem. My brother watched last nights match on Setanta Sports in a bar in Toronto where he lives so I would say look for a pub showing Setanta Sports over in the US?

We are going on holiday on the Sunday, we should have been going on the Saturday but whenwe booked the flights in January we opted for the 'just in case scenario'.

Hope you find a way to watch the game, and that the boys win it for you/us :)

I've had a shocker as well! Missus said about going on holiday back in Jan and i said as long as it's not during the world cup and normal football season i'll be ok!

Totally forgot about the playoffs and that we'd ever get there!

Anyway, what i'm getting to is - i'll be in Mexico at the time of the game. Has anybody watched a game across there before on tv?

I can think of a possible candidate......

I'm just hoping this bloody ash clouds comes down before i fly out Friday so i have a good enough excuse not to go on holiday and watch the town game!!! Doesn't look likely though!

Is there any such thing as an ash dance? Bit like a rain dance......

Not a chance you will see english football in mexico, they are pretty insular on that front, all they are really interested in is there only league and the copa libetadores. Good luck!
