Title: Swindon Advertiser Post by: ronnie21 on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, 17:19:39 I think it is very sad that a local institution such as the Evening (now Swindon) Advertiser should slip even further back in quality reporting etc. Never mind the fact that the majority of the news as printed is at least 48 hours old - their tv programmes tonight tell me that I can wastch the Cheltenham Festival or Inter v. Chelsea in the sports section. I suppose you cannot expect much more from a paper that now has its origins in Oxford!

An evening paper delivered in the morning, ridiculous Title: Re: Swindon Advertiser Post by: BANGKOK RED on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, 17:38:35 Do they sell it near the County Ground?

Noone wants to read that in the morning, it's always the nationals for me Title: Re: Swindon Advertiser Post by: pauld on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, 17:53:02 Local papers always have, and always will be evening papers in my opinion You are, of course, perfectly entitled to your opinion. But a paper that's in the shops for 8 am isn't an evening paper, in my opinion. Title: Re: Swindon Advertiser Post by: Talk Talk on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, 18:02:12 Morning, evening, it doesn't really matter. It's just handy for when you accidentally run out of loo paper.
Title: Re: Swindon Advertiser Post by: Summerof69 on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, 18:12:02 The Adver now gets delivered early in the morning, despite now being printed in Pox.

Quite correct Paul, but when I worked for them we would still be printing at 5 pm, with the racing results in the stop press - now you cannot even get overnight declarations in the useless thing. I guess they had to change the name as it is no longer an evening paper.Title: Re: Swindon Advertiser Post by: Lumps on Tuesday, April 13, 2010, 21:08:12 Do they sell it near the County Ground? :DI can't believe nobody else picked up on that subtle little reference.
