Title: Re: Grand National Post by: One F In Fitton on Friday, April 9, 2010, 14:51:05 I usually have a punt - it's tradition eh.
However, it is a bit wierd that this is, for many people, the one race they bet on, yet it's the biggest lottery out of all of them. Title: Re: Grand National Post by: Samdy Gray on Friday, April 9, 2010, 15:23:20 I've drawn Character Building in the sweepstake. Any good?

Title: Re: Grand National Post by: RJack on Friday, April 9, 2010, 16:04:37 I've drawn Character Building in the sweepstake. Any good? Has been plagued with injuries but trainers still maintain he's a good horse. I think had Jamie Codd been riding him tomorrow he would stand a good chance but having said that Nina Carberry who will be riding Character Building tomorrow is a good upcoming female jockey so could still do well Title: Re: Grand National Post by: Tans Wig on Friday, April 9, 2010, 16:10:40 Local horse good outside bet - Palypso De Creek
Title: Re: Grand National Post by: Luci on Friday, April 9, 2010, 17:01:51 Local horse good outside bet - Palypso De Creek Got that one outright and e/w. I picked 9 others but just put on silly 50p each way type bets as the horses I pick normally don't even make it to the finish! Title: Re: Grand National Post by: Arriba on Saturday, April 10, 2010, 23:18:04 i've watched this race on the highlights and have concluded that it's fucking cruel on the horses.
never really noticed before, but that was fucking extreme pressure on those nags. did any die today? Title: Re: Grand National Post by: flammableBen on Saturday, April 10, 2010, 23:21:04 Not according to whoever it was I asked just after I got out of work. Don't know if that's changed though.
Title: Re: Grand National Post by: Arriba on Saturday, April 10, 2010, 23:24:03 i like a bet on the horses, but it just made me think is it worth it?
i wont bet on the dogs as they get treated awfully, but i'm starting to think the horses dont get it much better. Title: Re: Grand National Post by: Crozzer on Saturday, April 10, 2010, 23:44:33 i've watched this race on the highlights and have concluded that it's fucking cruel on the horses. never really noticed before, but that was fucking extreme pressure on those nags. did any die today? The gruelling course resulted in 10 falls and another horse was brought down, but there were no fatalities. n all, 14 horses finished and 25 either fell, lost their riders or were pulled up. One horse refused to start. Title: Re: Grand National Post by: Spy on Sunday, April 11, 2010, 00:06:43 i like a bet on the horses, but it just made me think is it worth it? i wont bet on the dogs as they get treated awfully, but i'm starting to think the horses dont get it much better. this is why I gamble on footie but never horses. Title: Re: Grand National Post by: One F In Fitton on Sunday, April 11, 2010, 01:23:50 A bloke near me at Col U today got a call when the race finished, he'd won and went mental, jumping around like we'd been promoted, we were 2 down at the time......
Unless I owed a few quid to "Mad Frankie McChainsaw-Your-Bollocks-Off", nothing would've got me jumping around like a twat like that. I'd driven 130-odd miles and it's all about STFC...... Maybe it's just me. |
