Title: Exeter Home
Post by: china red on Thursday, April 8, 2010, 13:59:57
Anyone know if this is going to be available online anywhere.  It's going to start at 3am in the morning here but I would love to watch at least one match this season, even if it's only on the internet.

Anyone had the email for "kick for a car", at the game? First thought was someone will get lucky, quite a decent prize. Second thought was i hope it's not me drawn, as i cant see me scoring from Liverpool st.

"Satin" is a smooth fabric, such as of silk or rayon, woven with a glossy face and a dull back, whereas "Sateen" is a strong cotton fabric constructed in a satin weave and has a lustrous face. Sateen produces the sheen and softer feel through the use of a different structure in the weaving process. The sateen structure is four over, one under, placing the most threads on the surface, making it extremely soft, though slightly less durable than other weaves. Standard, non-sateen, weaves use a one over, one under structure. Satin also uses this structure, however, instead of using cotton, different materials are used, such as silk, polyester, etc.

Yeh, they normally stick a camera up there. They'll probably do it at the other end of the DRS too

Been a while since Exeter played a league game here...about 25 years...all the talk about memorable games, their last visit was quite significant. We'd just lost 3 on the spin and dropped to 21st in the old Div 4, 8 games in.  Colin Calderwood scored a wonderful last minute winner and Lou Macari hung up his boots, having been nutted in the nads by John Shaw.

We then went on a run only losing 3 of the next 37.  The 8 games thing might be significant, ColU hadn't won for 8 games, Exeter haven't lost in 8..so winning goal to be scored by Craig Easton....

I'm extremely disturbed by this whole drum thing. Is one of our fans wanting to bring a drum? If that is the case and we sound like Cheltenham or the plastics or something on TV i'll be disgusted. I'd rather they had a "bring a sex offender for a fiver" offer.

We must harass Fitton and Watkins to prevent such an atrocity ever happening again. Perhaps H&S can conjure up some obscure legislation, which could render a drum as a harmful weapon?

I am peturbed about this anti drum stance that some on this forum seem to be taking. If the truth be known one has expressed disatisfaction and a number have latched onto the fact. I don't see any problem with it if it galvanises the ground into any sort of amosphere which we are going to need for the next 3 home games. Bring it on I say!

Anyone who thinks a drum at football is a good idea needs shooting, or at least banning from the CG and shown the way to Reading or Cheltenham

Now. A bass drum is reportedly 106dB and the H&S regs state that a daily limit of 87dB should not be exceeded. The common acceptance is that 90-95dB will result in hearing loss.

Although these are work allowances the 1974 H&S at work act states that companies must limit the noise levels to others other than workers.

Drums. Just Say No!

Drumming is even worse than the over-excited clapping which can cause many of the songs to fizzle out and about on a par with the neighbour's DIY din which seems to occur on occasional Sundays.

A chorus of 'you can stick your fucking drum up your arse' on live telly should put the message across.

How about people just sing? A drum wouldn't galvanise fuck all, if people don't want to sing we'll just be left with a constant din whilst some cunt thinking he's clever smacks the buggery out of a drum.

Well the problem is it doesn't galvanise the atmosphere, it bloody kills it. Drums at football are for wankers

Why stop at a drum?
On a recent visit to the US I went to a college backetball game, in between each 'play' they had all sorts of entertainment...this is the way forward..I would like to see:
Drums
Hammond organ playing catchy clapalong tunes at 200dB
Dancers
Video screens showing adverts for hotdogs and sodas
Getting cameras on the the crowd to catch couples kissing and hugging
Mexican waves
lots of whoops whoops etc etc

Cant say I remember who won, but it doesnt matter.

THis is the future my friends, believe me.

drums at football are the worst. anyone who condones it is the worst man. i am proud of the fact we're pretty much the only club in the league who doesn't have a fucking drum.

however, they do often have a drum at lillestrøm games. they're totally drowned out by the non-stop singing for 90 minutes, so it's ok.
