Title: Toasties Post by: Talk Talk on Sunday, March 14, 2010, 23:37:05 I'm buying this baby next weekend:
http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31Lm59Uwb6L._SS400_.jpg http://www.amazon.co.uk/Breville-VST005-Stainless-Sandwich-Toaster/dp/B001DH0D2E/ref=pd_cp_kh_0 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Breville-VST005-Stainless-Sandwich-Toaster/dp/B001DH0D2E/ref=pd_cp_kh_0) Seats four, easy clean hinges and all that shit. You can even get a deal on this book: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61a08aQwIWL._SS500_.jpg However, not as good as this Japanese jobbie, which is probably far more efficient and doesn't leak cheese at awkward moments. I give you the Nikai Japan Sandwich Maker 4 Slice: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/411aZPvWk-L._SS500_.jpg Toasties? Love 'em. Title: Re: Toasties Post by: Doore on Sunday, March 14, 2010, 23:46:30 I lived on toasties for a while I was a student. My favourites were tuna (sounds odd, but it works), cheese ham and mushroom and BLT, but the absolute dog's bolllocks of toasties is the cheese, beans and marmite.
Title: Re: Toasties Post by: nochee on Monday, March 15, 2010, 00:44:43 A great idea and toasties are the nuts, but it will be used a handful of times and then sit in the cupboard.
Cheese ham and beans for me :I'm a complete mofleakin Deak Title: Re: Toasties Post by: Batch on Monday, March 15, 2010, 06:55:49 Classic dust gatherer. Put it next to the bread maker and soda stream.
Title: Re: Toasties Post by: Sippo on Monday, March 15, 2010, 07:45:24 Nightmare to clean. Once the novelty wears off, like others have said, it will be in the cupboard.
Title: Re: Toasties Post by: Samdy Gray on Monday, March 15, 2010, 08:14:28 I've got one. I still use it once every fortnight or so.
They're not that hard to clean Sippo. Trick is to put a bit of butter on the outside of the bread, the toastie comes out easier then. Title: Re: Toasties Post by: Sippo on Monday, March 15, 2010, 08:17:58 Not nightmare as in hard, just tedious I think...

Cheese and beans toasties are the bomb. Title: Re: Toasties Post by: suttonred on Monday, March 15, 2010, 09:08:44 Nightmare to clean. Once the novelty wears off, like others have said, it will be in the cupboard. Easy to clean, just go over with a damp sponge whilst still warm. Title: Re: Toasties Post by: Spy on Monday, March 15, 2010, 09:17:11 Classic dust gatherer. Put it next to the bread maker and soda stream. :soapy tit wank: Bread makers! That's a good tip that I have used on various women over the years. Title: Re: Toasties Post by: SwindonTartanArmy on Monday, March 15, 2010, 09:26:50 :soapy tit wank: Bread makers! On women whilst still warm? That very much implies that their warm status, while in your company, is temporary. What the hell do you do to them TT? Title: Re: Toasties Post by: BANGKOK RED on Monday, March 15, 2010, 09:41:36 On women whilst still warm? That very much implies that their warm status, while in your company, is temporary. What the hell do you do to them TT? He wipes them with a damp sponge, that's probably the mood killer. What the hell do you do to them TT? Oi, I have built up rather a nice collection in the cupboard under my stairs, thank you very much. Put it next to the bread maker and soda stream. ^ this. Spent £40 on mine, I used it three or four times, forgot to clean it after the last use... sat gathering dust and god knows what inside. Cheese n tomato... (watch your tongue!) Title: Re: Toasties Post by: Talk Talk on Monday, March 15, 2010, 17:14:47 i find the things a pain in the arse to clean too.cheese melts all over the sides and back and it's more trouble than it's worth. Ah, that's why I am going for the most expensive one I can find - hopefully the cheese will stay in. My good lady lobbed the last one for precisely your pain in the arse reasons. Quote i use my george foreman grill now instead, but the results aint quite as good. Ha - I found an industrial version of that yesterday on eBay, £1,800 a pop. Cooks bacon in five seconds... Spent £40 on mine, I used it three or four times, forgot to clean it after the last use... sat gathering dust and god knows what inside. I think leaving it visible on the worktop and hence in children's sight goes a long way to keeping it in regular use. Out of sight out of mind...yep, soda streams, bread makers and I would also add fondue sets... Title: Re: Toasties Post by: Dazzza on Monday, March 15, 2010, 18:47:19 I find the old George Forman does a decent toastie and all of the overspilt cheese runs nicely into the plastic fat collector.
Best toasties are done using those sandwitch bag things under the grill. Only takes a couple of mins and no mess. Title: Re: Toasties Post by: pumbaa on Monday, March 15, 2010, 20:45:05 This is the one you want TT

Really easy to clean, just wipe with the old damp cloth you seem so keen to please your women with..... Erm, yeah. Thanks for the tip my friend, but that doesn't have the clever clamshell inserts that keep the cheese in? I bet it's ace for paninis though. I bet it's ace for paninis though. No it doesn't, but it doesn't need them. Cheese stays in perfectly and my good lady packs the sandwich to the edge with cheese. Trust me on this one..... Title: Re: Toasties Post by: flammableBen on Tuesday, March 16, 2010, 21:29:49 Today I learnt an important lesson. Best not to try and clean behind the industrial hot press (sandwich/panini/anything) before it's cooled down. The inside of your elbow is the worst place to burn.
