Title: Juliet, Naked
Post by: Doore on Tuesday, January 26, 2010, 00:04:46
I bought this book (Nick Hornby) yesterday - I'm halfway through it and so far I highly recommend it.  To be fair though, I'm a massive fan of Hornby's novels - the only one I'm not too fond of is About a Boy.  High Fidelity, How to be Good, A Long Way Down and Slam! are all terrific, although I have a particular soft spot for How to be Good.

In short, Hornby is a much underrated novelist.

Fever Pitch is a wonderful book that all of us on here can identify with - I do think though that it has tainted his standing as a novelist - "he's the bloke who loves football isn't he?" - his record as a novelist deserves recognition.

I thought this was going to be a thread about the split second you see Juliet naked in Franco Zefirelli's version of the Shakespeare play.

:)

Hey, Zefirelli's is plenty cultured innit.
