Water gets in crack, freezes, expands, makes crack much bigger.

So yep, lots of holes in everything.

everywhere, or is it just me?

Yup.

It's the cold weather/water and continuous freeze/thaw that damages the surface.

The same thing that shatters rocks in mountains.

My ongoing battle is with lose pavement slabs. My walk from Central Station to Byker is rife with them.

I wouldn't worry if you live in Surrey though, the council are going to invest £500k in pot hole repairs! Councils waste significant multiples of that at the end of every tax year haemorrhaging left over budget i'd have thought.

We get kerbs that drop 1 foot + and random bits of metal sticking up and out all over the place here, it all adds to the character.

Here we just have many retarded people who walk out in front of cars to cross roads.  They don't seem to realise that these big lumps of metal moving at 50mph hurt when they hit you.

They have a habit of walking out and holding there hand up with their palm facing the car here, as though they have some kind of Jedi fucking powers or something to stop the car.

Spent a lot of time in BKK, thought the driving was bad at the time until I came here.

I think the problem here is that cars were not very common even ten years ago.  So all these little old dears don't understand the concept of crossing the road.  The worst thing I saw was this old woman with here grandchild strapped to her back in a whicker basket run across a three lane road without looking, just head down running into traffic driving at 50-60mph and causing multiple cars to swerve to avoid here.

That wont put a dent in them, they've shut some roads around Epsom which i use, as they are all pot hole, no road. Most of the worst ones are the same ones the useless sods "repaired" last year.

Dark, foggy.....hit a hole the size of a small village on the way home from the game on Saturday.

Punctured two tyres

Didn't know, i normally use the backroads round the rear of Epsom hospital , and up and across the downs as the centre gets busy peak times, that's, where all the bloody holes are.

Are we supposed to list on this thread where they are?  ???

My usual journey to work is 8.5 miles by car; now about 10 miles after negotiating the pot holes.
