Title: Oxford Mid-season self implosion Part 53423423342 Post by: STFC_Gazza on Monday, January 18, 2010, 12:44:47 Amongst all our excitement this year, Once again Oxford have got to December top of the league and have now started dropping down the table (2nd but it will get worse). The Pox lost 1-0 to Tamworth in their screwfix 10th division south match on the weekend. Ok I know the Pox have 2 games in hand but...

Apparently it was impossible for them to lose at home and they would be top again once those 3 games had been won. Well 1 of them has been played and they haven't picked up a point. So much for that.

Seeing some schools at doing a little teaching out here. Have brought my England shirt along of course. The implosion didn't last long. One game in total. We won 4-0 away to Grays soon after the home defeat which I went to. Tamworth defended very well, got a very lucky goal due to our otherwise faultless 'keepers mistake, and ran themselves into the ground. To quote their manager "This was their cup final." Grays are piss poor and have just signed 8 or 9 players so have an unsettled side. But it was a good away win and a perfect time for us to play them, to get our confidence back. As for the rest of the season I remain cautiously optimistic regarding our promotion position. It's way too early to call so I just hope we can hang onto a top two spot, and hopefully win the league, though history has taught me not to bank on anything.
