Title: FAO Funky Young People Post by: Boeta on Friday, June 3, 2005, 11:34:30 Now I have short hair after having it long through the winter (as shown by the picture on this page: http://thetownend.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2003&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=345) I have used up all the left over hair stuff from when I last had short hair. I'm going to town this afternoon, so what gel, wax etc do you use because I've fallen behind the times?
Title: FAO Funky Young People Post by: Kinky Tom on Friday, June 3, 2005, 11:36:54 What sort of look are you going for, and is your hair either, thick and heavy, or thin and light?
Title: FAO Funky Young People Post by: Boeta on Friday, June 3, 2005, 11:41:04 my hair's relatively thin but i'm not quite sure what look i'm going for
i might have a bit of squad rotation, change every couple of days Title: FAO Funky Young People Post by: yeo on Friday, June 3, 2005, 11:43:40 :Ride On Fatbury's Lovestick:
Blimmin metrosexuals :P Title: FAO Funky Young People Post by: Kinky Tom on Friday, June 3, 2005, 11:45:18 Well I use VO5 Hard Glue, which is very strong, but my hair is very thick and heavy, so I need it to hold my hair up.
Are you looking to have your hair on end, or sort of messed up, but a little flatter? Title: FAO Funky Young People Post by: Boeta on Friday, June 3, 2005, 11:46:27 probably the latter
Title: FAO Funky Young People Post by: Kinky Tom on Friday, June 3, 2005, 11:49:52 Then there's loads of products out there for you, go for something like a wax, or a re-workable paste of some sort.
Title: FAO Funky Young People Post by: Piemonte on Friday, June 3, 2005, 13:16:32 I've never been funky, and I'm not really young anymore so I have no place in this thread to be honest.
I use VO5 texturising gum though. good shit Title: FAO Funky Young People Post by: Kinky Tom on Friday, June 3, 2005, 13:19:28 Quote from: "Piemonte" I've never been funky, and I'm not really young anymore so I have no place in this thread to be honest. Hang on a mo, I'll fetch a violin. Title: FAO Funky Young People Post by: blinkpip on Friday, June 3, 2005, 14:14:28 go into Wilkinsons(cheapest prices) and buy around 5 different types of gel. Try a different one everyday and you will soon find your favourite.
Title: FAO Funky Young People Post by: walrus on Friday, June 3, 2005, 14:19:05 Gel is dreadful unless used with wax as it gives your a high a thin, forced look plus it easily comes out and ends up with bits of flakes which resemble dandruff. If your hair is quite thin then it will also mean people can see your scalp which isn't good!
Wax is my favourite as your hair is still touchable :D and it's easier to work with, and doesn't look so forced providing you don't use too much. Lambretta Wax is my favourite, but it's quite expensive - bout a fiver for a small tub, but if used sparingly will last you a couple of months at least. I ain't gay or owt  Title: FAO Funky Young People Post by: Boeta on Friday, June 3, 2005, 14:29:20 i bought some waxy stuff.. can't remember what, it's in the bag on the floor about a metre away but i cant be bothered to get it
Title: FAO Funky Young People Post by: blinkpip on Friday, June 3, 2005, 14:33:01 Problems I find with wax, that it leaves white crap on your hair.
Title: FAO Funky Young People Post by: walrus on Friday, June 3, 2005, 14:41:25 Quote from: "blinkpip" Problems I find with wax, that it leaves white crap on your hair. Try rubbing it thoroughly between your palms and then rigorously rubbing it into your hair, then style. If you're rigorous enough, there shouldn't be a problem, or you're using crap wax... Title: FAO Funky Young People Post by: flammableBen on Friday, June 3, 2005, 14:49:32 The problem I have with wax is softening the candles enough without heavily scoulding myself. It's a fine balance. Still safer than trying to get it from those pesky bees though.

Title: FAO Funky Young People Post by: Rossi on Friday, June 3, 2005, 17:38:14 My hair is shit because its thick and most gels don't make it stick up because it's too heavy. Recently I've been using Brylcreem Reshaper gum which works a treat
Title: FAO Funky Young People Post by: unclemark on Friday, June 3, 2005, 17:46:13 My brother just got his trampy wig cut. Shockwaves gel is ok, but make sure you use lots of it or else by the mid afternoon it will just look like your hair is greasy and not gelled. It has happened to me many a time.
