I imagine that I am not alone in thinking that all this petty bollocks with mickey/j1mmy and the inter-forum 'wars' with the trust, the adver and whatever is starting to become seriously fucking tedious.

Frankly, I'm sick to death of it all. The constant bickering over people who were banned, arguing who should be banned and the wind-up merchants on the Adver site was what finally killed off the non-footy section of that forum, which is why we all moved here. For the most part, it's been fucking brilliant.

Dazzza gave me Admin status as I needed to access the style templates to add the new style SEPTiMUS designed, since then I've done very little with my supposed 'power' other than add some new smileys, changed a few words here and there, banned Dave for about ten minutes and given you all nasty titles. However, last night I was forced to use my judgment because Mickey posted something that was blatantly out of order.

I'm fed up of having to constantly move stuff that Mickey posts to wind me up, I don't do it because it offends me but because so many of you read these forums at work, it would be unfair if one dubious image from Mickey resulted in someone losing their internet access at work. I also don't want to be reading a thread and be confronted with gay porn when my Mum walks into my room. Again, I imagine I'm not alone in thinking that.

However, I used to my judgment last night and I banned Mickey. I've taken flak for this, mostly on other forums and it's getting fucking boring now. I didn't ban Mickey because of a personal grudge, a vendetta or a dislike for him. I used to find his elaborate wind-ups on the Adver forum highly amusing and I still do, but I banned him because I felt that if he continued to behave in the manner he was - posting clearly inappropriate images for a forum which people read at work/home and don't expect to see anything dodgy - it would have a detrimental effect on the forum and as a result, arguments would arise and we'd be right back in the situation we were in on the Adver forum.

I'm trying to do my best. Frankly, I'm thick skinned enough these days to take the criticism coming my way and ultimately I don't really give a fuck if Mickey and j1mmy want to shoot their mouths off on the Trust/Adver forums. That's their problem, not mine. Nothing I have done has been for self-satisfaction, self-promotion or because I'm on an ego powertrip. I'm trying to do what I feel is right for everyone, I realise most of you will understand that.

Basically, I'm just asking for a bit of understanding, patience and some common sense. We all know what's unsuitable material for the general forum and we all know that Mickey posts the things he does for the reaction, I'm forced to react by deleting/moving his posts. If you'd all rather have a forum with no moderation then that's fine, tell me and I'll stop moving stuff because as I've said, I'm trying to do the best for everyone. I'd also appreciate it if people refrained from arguing with j1mmy/mickey on the Trust forums because it's not fair on the boys at the Trust at all. It's got nothing to do with them whatsoever.

Anyway I've rambled on for quite long enough now, I hope none of you feel that I am being patronising or condescending towards anyone as that is not my intention. I just felt I owe everyone an explanation of sorts. I like this forum, I don't want it to fall apart like the Adver did.

On a slightly related issue, I have posted a couple of times on the trust site, posts that were reactive to this Gerry fella, who I had no prior knowledge of, I'm not going to do it agian, because Reg pointed out to me that I was playing into his hands.  Whether I was or not is beside the point really, I've got no further need to argue with Gerry, I've had my say on the matter.

Aside from that, most of what has gone on in the past was before my time, so I'm not really sure what went on.

All I'm going to say now is that I, like SY, like this forum as is, if Mickey posts things that are offensive, or may be construde as offensive then Sonic is damn right to take action.

Yeh fair play, his only crime was continually posting unsuitable material in this forum rather than the Not Safe For Work forum, but his persistance in doing so as you say could have got someone in a load of trouble - funny for the rest of us, but not for those concerned.  Are you going to allow him back if he learns how to use the NSFW and General Discussion Forums appropriately?

Sonicyouth. I am new here but I think you are behaving irresponsibly. I remember Mickey from thisisstfc whenever he was deleted or banned he would go on the Trust forum and cause big problems on there. He is now doing the same again. It would make much more sense if he was allowed to post all his shit on this forum because on the Trust site it can cause genuine damage to the Trust and club. I know that previousley members of the Trust had to apoligise to the club about some of his posts and this is not fair on them. I say it is best to have Mickey on this forum where he can be monitered and controlled sort of like a zoo animal.

 But the Trust purport to represent the fans, and not all our fans have tastes that are suited to afternoon tea at the vicarage Mickey....its only right and proper that they should hear about your needs.to see if they cn be accommodated into the stadium redevelopment....a creche perhaps?

 Whereas TEF is more of a private club......bit like a tennis club, where they are still allowed to operate a whites only policy and get an LTA grant.

We have never had to apologise to the club about posts on our forum and for that matter I wouldn't have thought we would even be asked to, anymore than we would expect the club to apologise to us for something posted on the messageboard on the club site.
