What the fuck is it supposed to mean?

The literal translation is 'Wholesomeness/Good Health and Pupose/Diligence'.

  It means that Swindon is salubrious, thriving centre of industry. This suggests to me that our club was indeed founded by the Romans, perhaps some disaffected Inter-supporting Legionnaires ?

Health and Industry.
That's industry in the sense of "hard work" (per industriousness) rather than heavy machinery. "Good health and hard work" might be a better translation.
