Title: re. Decent boozers near Wembley stadium Post by: michael on Tuesday, September 8, 2009, 17:55:29 Any advances on The Greyhound?
Apparently they are going to be giving away 25,000 free burgers before tomorrow night's game, which is nice. Title: Re: re. Decent boozers near Wembley stadium Post by: Spencer_White on Tuesday, September 8, 2009, 18:17:45 Greyhound was shut last time I was there in early July.
If it's dry just get a 4 pack and stand outside! Title: Re: re. Decent boozers near Wembley stadium Post by: michael on Tuesday, September 8, 2009, 20:01:34 Closed? Oh ruddy hell.
We were hoping to catch a bit of the cricket prior to kick off. Title: Re: re. Decent boozers near Wembley stadium Post by: leefer on Tuesday, September 8, 2009, 20:27:52 http://www.beerintheevening.com/pubs/results.shtml/tr/87

Decent boozers near Wembley stadium Post by: reeves4england on Tuesday, September 8, 2009, 21:55:31 Good pub opposite Baker Street Tube As long as you get in early - it's often rammed on England matchdays!Title: Re: re. Decent boozers near Wembley stadium Post by: Anteater on Tuesday, September 8, 2009, 22:42:40 If you get the Chiltern line from Marylebone station to Wembley Park there's a nice little boozer on Enford St which is 5 minutes walk from the station called the Thornbury Castle, often go there before any England games. Not as packed as the Globe etc by Baker St.

Title: Re: re. Decent boozers near Wembley stadium Post by: genf_stfc on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, 08:14:07 i wouldn't pin your hopes on anything within a mile of wembley - better off geting some in down one of the tube lines before hand, and packing a few carry outs for the slow march to the ground (not on the tube obviously...)
Title: Re: re. Decent boozers near Wembley stadium Post by: Dirk Diggler on Wednesday, September 9, 2009, 08:44:49 I always go in "Moore Spice" which is a pub/resteraunt showing sky sports and providing "bar meals". Although busy there is still usually plenty of room. Right opppisite the ground by the trading estate.
I shall be in there at approx 5;30pm today. Title: Re: re. Title: Re: re. Decent boozers near Wembley stadium Post by: axs on Thursday, September 10, 2009, 00:03:42 Wetherspoons at baker street then sports bar by wembley, big marquee out back with beer and bogs.
Title: Re: re. Decent boozers near Wembley stadium Post by: michael on Thursday, September 10, 2009, 22:15:39 We went to The Bear in the end, which was on the high street.
Decent crowd, and featured a beer garden that looked suspiciously like a road. It was also very well equiped with TV screens and Sky, which meant that I could keep up-to-date with our Ashes winning cricket heroes' progress v Australia. Title: Re: re. Decent boozers near Wembley stadium Post by: Spencer_White on Friday, September 11, 2009, 19:17:59 Cricket definately not worth the effort on wednesday! If you get off at Stonebridge park there is a pub on the Harrow road that has a decent dukebox and always has sky sports on. It's got the 4 flags of the home nations outside it. Bit rough and ready, but does well for Wembley. From there you can walk up to the Greyhound.

Title: Re: re. Decent boozers near Wembley stadium Post by: RedRag on Saturday, September 12, 2009, 10:37:25 Not being too excited about England matches ever since Rogers was never picked for the full squad, I was genuinely intrigued by why someone on this board might want to know about boozers near Wembley...there being a few games to go to hold on to our play-off place...doh!
