Any advances on The Greyhound?

Apparently they are going to be giving away 25,000 free burgers before tomorrow night's game, which is nice.

Greyhound was shut last time I was there in early July.

If it's dry just get a 4 pack and stand outside!

Closed? Oh ruddy hell.

We were hoping to catch a bit of the cricket prior to kick off.

For ease of use, the premier inn outside the tube station sets up an outside bar, with toilets and a food van, for big events.

As long as you get in early - it's often rammed on England matchdays!

If you get the Chiltern line from Marylebone station to Wembley Park there's a nice little boozer on Enford St which is 5 minutes walk from the station called the Thornbury Castle, often go there before any England games. Not as packed as the Globe etc by Baker St.

It's Paddy Power giving away the burgers, a van is outside the Greyhound!

i wouldn't pin your hopes on anything within a mile of wembley - better off geting some in down one of the tube lines before hand, and packing a few carry outs for the slow march to the ground (not on the tube obviously...)

I always go in "Moore Spice" which is a pub/resteraunt showing sky sports and providing "bar meals". Although busy there is still usually plenty of room. Right opppisite the ground by the trading estate.

I shall be in there at approx 5;30pm today.

My dad went to the Game on Saturday, and went in the greyhound, he said the atmosphere was great, but gets really busy! So get their early if you can!

We went to The Bear in the end, which was on the high street.

Decent crowd, and featured a beer garden that looked suspiciously like a road.

It was also very well equiped with TV screens and Sky, which meant that I could keep up-to-date with our Ashes winning cricket heroes' progress v Australia.

Cricket definately not worth the effort on wednesday! If you get off at Stonebridge park there is a pub on the Harrow road that has a decent dukebox and always has sky sports on. It's got the 4 flags of the home nations outside it. Bit rough and ready, but does well for Wembley. From there you can walk up to the Greyhound.

It's always rammed in there, and usually outside as well, it's the traditional singing pub for pre-match drinks.

Not being too excited about England matches ever since Rogers was never picked for the full squad, I was genuinely intrigued by why someone on this board might want to know about boozers near Wembley...there being a few games to go to hold on to our play-off place...doh!
