aka The Amateur.

On the back of last night's performance, he is now my favourite player.

He is the new Miguel Comminges.

I'm glad he's doing well anyway.

I hope it is LJF or LJ-F..I'd be disappointed now if it turned out to be JFL or J-FL  and it was all just an administrative cock up by STFC (perish the thought)

Haiti sounds like an interesting place, not that I know much about it. The BBC repeated Alan Whicker's classic 70's documentary recently when he went to see Papa Doc Duvalier. I have a feeling his son was Baby Doc Duvalier. That may be wrong but I really hope it's not. Haiti were in the 1974 World Cup and lost 7-0 to some one. Steely Dan had a hit with Haitian Divorce.

There you go. That's all I know about Haiti.

Oh yeah, they all practice Voodoo.

That's it.

I'm sure we must be able to come up with a decent song for LJF. Trouble is I'm not sure how you pronounce 'Lescinel'?

Just because i like to post pointless shit, but Voodoo isn't to do with torture by pins in dolls. That was merely propaganda that was started by early Christians to rubbish a competing religion and make people reject it and in turn accept the more friendly religion. Oh the irony.

I think he looks like he could turn into a bit of a bonus.  I do think he could pick up the odd red card during the season though, he does have a tendancy to jump in a bit, but I do like the look of him all the same!

according to an article on guingamp's website, his prénom (given name/first name/christian name) is Lescinel and his nom de familie (surname, i presume?) is Jean-François.

my french is non-existant though, so i may be wrong.

Trivia question what is the origin of the term "Steely Dan"?

Is Yinka under a Voodoo spell?

Yes..From a strap on dildo in the Edgar Rice Borroughs novel, The Naked Lunch.

Wasn't his best game today but he did well against Cardiff and WBA so I'd be happy enough for him to start next week

I haven't seen the film but the book is impossible and nasty.I've tried to read it but its very strange and a hard slog.Kerouac is far more readable.

I read it many years ago, so many I can't remember much about it, other than it juxtaposes Burrough's preoccupation with good and evil, human passion and sensuality.

The Soft Machine also gave its name to an interesting band...who've been lost in the sands of time.

SY good find about Lesc....Guingamp produce some very decent players for somewhere the size of Highworth...I've a mate who supports them, he was well excited as they won the French Cup earlier in the summer.

Big throw, pace, power, good engine, cool temperment - JFL has the lot.

Surely only a matter of time now until DW receives a call from Jairo Rios Rendon, the Haiti national coach.

Decent "JFL Watch" feature there.

Here is an extract:

29th Aug: Another all action performance from the fans favourite in the 2-1 victory over Southend United. JFL watch..
8 mins: Perfectly weighted one-two with goalkeeper Lucas.
25ish min: A surging run down the left which saw at least 3 step-overs, a shimmy and a dummy.
28 mins: JFL is booked after a penalty area scuffle.
34 mins : In an attempt to get the dangerman sent off, Jean-Francois Christophe dives and earns a second yellow card himself.
68ish min: Having been penned in the corner and appearing to have nowhere to go, JFL produces a nonchalant flick/scoop.
92 mins: With Swindon defending a 2-1 lead, left-back Jean-Francois finds himself in the opposition's penalty area and unleashes a rasping shot which is well parried by Mildenhall.
93 mins: Fans sing his name, final whistle blows, another job done for Jean Francois.
