Title: Re: Trampoline for Sale Post by: Talk Talk on Sunday, July 12, 2009, 16:45:11 Cheers Andy!
I put the trampoline up this morning while Joy took Sophie in to town to get some birthday bits. I can't describe the look on her face when she came in and noticed it in the garden. A real picture. She is so chuffed with it. Nice one mate. :thumb: Title: Re: Trampoline for Sale Post by: STFC_Gazza on Sunday, July 12, 2009, 17:06:17 Title: Re: Trampoline for Sale Post by: Fred Elliot on Sunday, July 12, 2009, 17:09:08 Cheers Andy! Title: Re: Trampoline for Sale Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, July 12, 2009, 18:00:54 You could say TT sprung the surprise well
Title: Re: Trampoline for Sale Post by: pauld on Sunday, July 12, 2009, 18:11:06 Cheers Andy! That's cheating - what you're supposed to do is assemble it the night before when the kids have gone to bed, only realising after you've started that the bulb in the outside security light must have blown at some point in the past week so you have to do the whole damn thing in pitch black except for one of those "Free with 10 ltrs of petrol" torches you get at the garage which has dodgy contacts so it only works if you tilt it at exactly the right angle so you can't even shine it directly on the area you're working on. Only then do you get the full effect of getting 2/3 of the way around before realising you've been putting the springs on wrong and that you've now completely wrenched your shoulder out of its socket and it's quarter to one in the bloody morning and you just want to collapse where you are on the grass and drink till the kids wake up in the morning and find you passed out over a half-assembled trampoline with a spring end embedded in your thumb joint.I put the trampoline up this morning while Joy took Sophie in to town to get some birthday bits. I can't describe the look on her face when she came in and noticed it in the garden. A real picture. She is so chuffed with it. Nice one mate. :thumb: On reflection, your way may be best. Title: Re: Trampoline for Sale Post by: suttonred on Sunday, July 12, 2009, 18:20:56 Bet you were popular! Sort of thing i'd end up doing.
Title: Re: Trampoline for Sale Post by: pauld on Sunday, July 12, 2009, 19:01:32 Bet you were popular! Sort of thing i'd end up doing. I made up the thing about being found sprawled all over it - I just felt like doing that. I actually finished the bastard thing at about 2.30 am, then crawled into a bottle of Scotch (purely medicinal for the pierced thumb/dislocated shoulder) before collapsing into bed semi-pissed. Which masked how much I hurt till next morning when the kids' delight at the trampoline almost made it worthwhile, along with the loss of the use of my shoulder/hand for much of the next week. Mind, they still play on it pretty much every day (I even had to clear snow off the bloody thing so they could bounce on it muffled up to the eyeballs in thick coats, hats etc) so it's actually been one of the better value things we've bought them. And the neighbours love the way the extra height from the bouncing makes it sooo much easier for them to hoof balls over the fenceTitle: Re: Trampoline for Sale Post by: Talk Talk on Sunday, July 12, 2009, 20:47:09 No problem Al Glad she was chuffed with it ! Even more so that you managed to put it up ok ! It was easy after the Fred Elliot course in Dismantling a Trampoline in the Belting Rain. As I said, I wasn't keen at all on getting one but most of our nieces and nephews were around today because of Sophie's birthday and the thing has been punished non-stop. As PD says, I reckon it is actually good value entertainment and it will stay up over the long summer school holidays. We will be inundated with small people for the next two months. Which is good in a way because my brothers and sisters in law are prone to turning up with serious quantities of beer and wine on these occasions. Ace. PS Paul you should have had some lessons from Andy. He only charges a case of 3Bs and you should see his tool. Title: Re: Trampoline for Sale Post by: Talk Talk on Sunday, July 12, 2009, 21:37:02 Garden being fully landscaped 1st week of August so fuck it, not cutting the grass til then I'm equipping Sophie with a pair of scissors to cut the grass under the thing. Harsh Daddy or what? Title: Re: Trampoline for Sale Post by: Fred Elliot on Sunday, July 12, 2009, 21:41:37 downside is you wont have any grass mate
lack of sunlight = big mud circle Title: Re: Trampoline for Sale Post by: Talk Talk on Sunday, July 12, 2009, 21:49:47 downside is you wont have any grass mate lack of sunlight = big mud circle I'm buying special solar reflectors with grass friendly wavelength coatings. There is no way that trampoline is getting the better of me. Title: Re: Trampoline for Sale Post by: Arriba on Sunday, July 12, 2009, 21:53:26 i found the grass grew faster underneath the trampoline that my kids had.weird
Title: Re: Trampoline for Sale Post by: Talk Talk on Sunday, July 12, 2009, 21:57:35 Actually Fred, Arriba is right. The grass under the trampoline in your garden when we took it down was infested with wildebeest, panthers and I'm sure I stepped on a rain forest or two.
