Frankly I'm disappointed, I've come to rely on your electricery wizzardry. I asked my good pal and drinking buddy elihuspeaks what he thinks over on the fabulous www.phonescoop.com. (they're crazy mofos I can tell you) and this is what he says..... "the D500 is one of the absolute best phones I've ever used. It has pretty much everything I could (reasonably) want from a cell phone. Bluetooth, megapixel camera, QVGA screen, MP3 player, 96mb of internal memory, syncs perfectly w/Outlook, additional speaker available for speakerphone and playing music, etc. Normally, I hate sliders - but this one is different. The size gives it a very different feel from the D415 (it's compact - but not too small). All in all, it would be an incredible phone for T-Mobile to add to their lineup (I'd take it over the Razr any day)." I don't know how I've managed to live this long without 96mb of internal memory. Sounds like you've got a good one there Kinkmeister, elihu knows his stuff! I have them coming out of my ears and I can tell you they are over rated. Title: Samsung D500 Post by: Piemonte on Thursday, May 26, 2005, 16:01:21 Chavs / pikeys get a BT landline. after running up a bill of several hundred pounds which they will never be able to pay, they get disconnected and credit blacklisted.
Following this, the only means of communication available to them is the PAYG mobile. source: CHAV! : a users guide to britains new ruling class. available form all good bookstores. So PAYG is like Burberry. It's been tainted by association with Pikeys. I don't think I will be switching to monthly billing just because of that. So what's this X640 like? Is is a bit last week? Title: Samsung D500 Post by: Dazzza on Thursday, May 26, 2005, 16:30:58 Cracking phone.
I'm on PAYG for same reason as Shaun. Had a contract with Orange who are fucking useless and nearly cost me getting a mortgage. Contract was paid off in full but thy didn't bother telling their credit department. 18 months on they had been recording arrears on my Equifax profile each month. O2 aren't much better. No idea really Shaun, I just said it to rile you. :jaw1: I think PAYG is alot more popular than contract, so most people still choose that and is undoubtedly the most popular choice amongst people on lower incomes which I guess is where the pikey thing comes from. Ironically PAYG is more expensive in the long run for alot of people, you have to buy the phone and costs more to use it. People are just scared of the contract thing and don't trust themselves to not run up a huge bills. Depends how much you use the phone and how often you like to change phones (and if you trust yourself) but it's definitely worth considering a contract. Title: Samsung D500 Post by: sonicyouth on Thursday, May 26, 2005, 16:40:29 I've only had PAYG once and I used to spend at least a tenner on credit each week, now I've had three contract phones and my bills are generally £30 a month and I've never paid for a handset.
