Title: If you were... Post by: Miss Angry on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, 18:15:59 flying at 17:40 on a Saturday from Stansted what time would you leave swindon? You have to take into account that airport parking has advised it can take upto 40 mins with the shuttle to get to the airport...
Im being stressy and would like to win this argument. Other half is saying we have to leave at 11:30 im saying later.... Title: Re: If you were... Post by: LucienSanchez on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, 18:19:08 it's better to be early for a flight than late...
Title: Re: If you were... Post by: Simon Pieman on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, 18:19:55 When's the latest check in time?
Title: Re: If you were... Post by: Kinky Tom on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, 18:20:50 I always prefer being early, but then I'm a lanky sod so the earlier the better for comfort on the flight...
Title: Re: If you were... Post by: leefer on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, 18:21:30 If you leave at 1pm get there for 3.30 pm at the latest, youl be in the airport for 4pm no probs...go at 12.30 to be there for 3.30..
Title: Re: If you were... Post by: nochee on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, 18:27:01 If you leave at 1pm get there for 3.30 pm at the latest, youl be in the airport for 4pm no probs...go at 12.30 to be there for 3.30.. Providing the M25 is clear!! I would go with the 1230 option rather than the 1pm just for piece of mind. Title: Re: If you were... Post by: Simon Pieman on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, 18:27:22 If it's a short flight then I think you can only check in 2 hours before so you don't want to get there too early. But if it's a long haul flight that will be 3 hours. But each airline closes check in at different times I think.
EDIT: I agree with nochee. Title: Re: If you were... Post by: Miss Angry on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, 18:29:50 I dont know what the latest check in time is, but i actually got the flight time wrong its 17:20.
But im also agreeing with nochee Id also like to point out i have never had a problem before. When you add men the the mix they like to boss and complicate everything! Title: Re: If you were... Depends on whos driving....can always go Bicester,Aylesbury,Hemel Hemstead, onto the M25. Title: Re: If you were... Post by: axs on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, 18:33:03 Personally I would leave midday at the latest.
Title: Re: If you were... Post by: suttonred on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, 18:35:27 Yes 12ish, as you have the M25 and M11, which is not often a very good trip on a saturday, get there early and have a beer or two.
Title: Re: If you were... Post by: Batch on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, 19:17:30 I nearly missed a Stanstead flight thanks to the M25 despite leaving 'plenty of time'.
I got a "have a go" boarding pass, where you leg it to the plane and see if you can get there before it leaves the gate. Title: Re: If you were... Post by: jonny72 on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, 19:21:11 I'd suggest leaving later, that way it will add more excitement to the journey - will you get there in time or won't you? Its great fun, unless you get there too late in which case it will be a bit shit to say the least.
Title: Re: If you were... Post by: oxford_fan on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, 19:40:29 Leave at 12, the boyf knows his stuff.
Title: Re: If you were... Post by: Simon Pieman on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, 19:47:43 If it's 5:20 then I'd leave by midday. Considering you got the flight time wrong you should probably leave travel arrangements to the man.
Title: Re: If you were... Post by: Miss Angry on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, 20:51:39 Im gonna have to admit im wrong now. How can i do this but turn it around in my favour?

Accept his starting time but refuse to admit that that means you were in any way wrong and refuse to apply any logic or rational discussion to the matter. Then shout at him until he gives in about what a bastard he is. Usually works for my missus.Title: Re: If you were... Just admit you were wrong and be done with it. If you must point score, tell him you agree with leaving early as it will mean you have plenty of time to look round the shops at the airport and have him buy you something special. Title: Re: If you were... Post by: sonicyouth on Wednesday, June 3, 2009, 21:00:28 on a saturday afternoon to be there an hour before departure, i'd leave about 2:30pm but that's from oxford
i've been to stansted (or gatwick) about a dozen times this year, not missed a flight or been late. i did spend most of friday afternoon and evening on the m25 though but that was on the way back... Then shout at him until he gives in about what a bastard he is. Usually works for my missus. Or just say to him that she wants to discuss the leaving times because it's clearly something causing friction. Then raise the tone a bit and say in no uncertain terms that she wants to leave at 11:30 and thats final. Then when he says that was what he suggested, she can call him a liar and explain that he "wanted to leave later ACTUALLY!" Title: Re: If you were...
