Title: Recommend me a new phone. Post by: Samdy Gray on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, 17:45:31 My N95 8gb has bitten the dust. The screen has cracked for the second time and I cannae be arsed to faff around fixing it again, plus it's just an added expense to fork out for a new screen because it's not covered by the warranty.
I've looked into iPhone's, but as it's limited to O2 and there's no cashback deals about (needed to pay off my existing contract) then it's a no go really. There's plenty of decent phones about by the looks of things, but I don't know what's good and what's not. Looking for something with minimum 3 inch screen, must have WiFi and preferably GPS as well. Title: Re: Recommend me a new phone. Post by: Dazzza on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, 17:53:48 Have you tried BlackBerrys? The new Curve is worth a look slightly more on contract but it comes with Wi-Fi and GPS built in and the push email is top bombing.
Camera and multi-media is not as hot as the iPhone but overall they're a great device and the battery life is exceptional. Title: Re: Recommend me a new phone. Post by: Iffy's Onion Bhaji on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, 17:59:12 Do you want to be on a specific network? HTC phones are supposed to be pretty good. Most of them have big screens and also support top notch web-browsing including Wi-Fi.

Camera and multi-media is not as hot as the iPhone but overall they're a great device and the battery life is exceptional. The features are definitely what I'm after, but I can't help but think it's a really ugly phone. Do you want to be on a specific network? HTC phones are supposed to be pretty good. Had an HTC before and liked it, but I'm not a fan of the Windows Mobile OS, although I've only ever used up to WM5. Not sure what WM6.1 is like. Title: Re: Recommend me a new phone. Title: Re: Recommend me a new phone. Post by: Samdy Gray on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, 18:32:43 WiFi and large screen are the only "must".
Title: Re: Recommend me a new phone. Post by: Samdy Gray on Thursday, May 28, 2009, 10:12:12 Hmm.. just found that if I replace the screen on my phone (£50) I can then get £140 for it through those mobile recycling sites leaving me with £90 which'll pay off my contract. So the iPhone could be a goer.
