Title: Re: Body clock Post by: Ardiles on Saturday, May 16, 2009, 11:43:20 It's because you're getting older. Students are designed to sleep during the day. The rest of us aren't.

Title: Re: Body clock Post by: ibelieveinmrreeves on Saturday, May 16, 2009, 13:09:35 Used to get the same thing when I was a postie. Asleep on my feet by half ten, and 7am was a lie-in.

Title: Re: Body clock Post by: Rich Pullen on Sunday, May 17, 2009, 10:18:10 I get up at 0600 most work days, 0500 if I'm on an early. Go to sleep normally between 2200-0000. I'll get up around 9-10 on a day off.
For the job I have, I wish I didn't have to get up so early but when I was doing Hygrade shifts I was on a 0400 get up etc. Title: Re: Body clock Post by: Bob's Orange on Sunday, May 17, 2009, 10:25:10 After 4 months in India my body clock was a little bit thrown out. But luckily India is only 3 and a half hours ahead of Lux. I was finding myself falling asleep at 8pm and waking up at 5am ish but seem to have corrected myself this weekend and back to normal. The American's I was working with must be majorly fucked when they go back to Boston!

after 6 weeks of getting up at 5am 5 days a week I was worried my body would keep waking me up at that time, seems not. Title: Re: Body clock Post by: Saxondale on Sunday, May 17, 2009, 20:57:54 Last night bed in birmingham holiday inn at 1am, up at 3am on the fucking street in my pyjamas due to a sodding fire alarm, not happy in the slightest. Really did want to kill the wedding party who thought it was all very amusing.
Wankers. Title: Re: Body clock Post by: Simon Pieman on Sunday, May 17, 2009, 21:41:55 Well I expect he does, given the fact he was on the street in them.
Title: Re: Body clock Post by: Saxondale on Sunday, May 17, 2009, 21:52:38 Yes. I gave up sleeping naked when my 2 daughters were born and started coming up into the bedroom during the night.
And call me a prude but it was preferable to going onto the street of birmingham city centre with my old chap dangling for all to see. Title: Re: Body clock Post by: spacey on Sunday, May 17, 2009, 21:56:27 it seems its only us brits that frown on a siesta. Not me. It probably wouldn't work for you, but I cut out eyes from pictures I find in magazines, and glue them to my eyelids, so I can sleep undetetected. My boss thinks I'm a real hard worker working late. I nearly got caught when I started to dribble, because one of the cleaners thought I was having a stroke and phoned an ambulance. One early night every now and again does you good, but feel I'm missing out if I go to bed too early. That, and I can;t sleep.

And call me a prude but it was preferable to going onto the street of birmingham city centre with my old chap dangling for all to see. You are a prude. Is that ok? I haven't worn anything in bed since I was about 14. Even during all of those years with four children who are now nearly grown up. I'm quite proud of my old chap you see ;D Title: Re: Body clock Post by: Saxondale on Sunday, May 17, 2009, 22:58:42 Takes all sorts I suppose. Im happy to be a prude. I wish you and your old chap all the luck in the world. :flaccid:

He doesn't really need luck though. He's a homing torpedo to the best woman in the world. Title: Re: Body clock Post by: reeves4england on Sunday, May 17, 2009, 23:51:32 I need 8 hours usually, otherwise I end up having to make up for it by going to bed early the next night. Considering I have an exam at 10am I should probably head off soon!!!
Title: Re: Body clock Post by: Doore on Monday, May 18, 2009, 00:56:53 I don't seem to have a body clock. I am generally known as a world class sleeper. Can pull off 14 hours uninterrupted quite easily. Unfortunately, work and my alarm clock don't allow this.
I did once sleep, or at least sat in bed, for a whole day. Went on an all day drinking session, passed out about 11pm, slept until mid-afternoon, went for a piss, then went back to bed and slept until 8am the next day. Sleeping is, and I mean this, the best thing in the world. Title: Re: Body clock Post by: Talk Talk on Monday, May 18, 2009, 01:32:34 I don't seem to have a body clock. Anyhow, I need to be up at 7am to drive to Plymouth. Night night. Title: Re: Body clock Post by: nevillew on Monday, May 18, 2009, 08:50:02 I never oversleep, I always need a piss before 6am each morning! Just as well then Dell. Title: Re: Body clock Post by: LucienSanchez on Monday, May 18, 2009, 09:02:53 I am terrible at sleeping... to even fall asleep i need it to be nice and dark, with no noise. I then annoyingly wake up evry few hours or so, and take a good 20 minutes to fall back to sleep again, even more if i can't shut the missus up. I also can't fall asleep on my back. This scenario leaves me in a continued state of tiredness and usually in a bad mood.
Title: Re: Body clock Post by: Spy on Monday, May 18, 2009, 10:25:16 I frequently don't sleep friday night or saturday night so a lot of the time I'm not getting 7 nights sleep a week. Altho I might end up napping sunday afternoon or going to bed early monday.
Title: Re: Body clock Post by: DMR on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, 02:23:24 I'm in the middle of some essay prep work so won't go to bed until about 4-5am... as a rule of thumb this means I'll bowl out of bed at 5-6pm tomorrow, in time to catch a few hours daylight. I will then go to bed tomorrow at about 12, meaning I've barely had any time up, and get up just before my 12pm exam.
So out of the next 36 hours, I'll probably spend close to 24 of them in bed asleep. I love studenthood. Title: Re: Body clock Post by: DV on Tuesday, May 19, 2009, 12:00:40 I cant sleep past 10am :(
bed at 5 up a 10, next night half asleep down the pub at 12...get home, awake till 2 finally fall asleep up at 10. I feel rough |
